Kwasi - Nyeupe'Joka Lake
Coming to the shores of this lake, one can easily tell its not an
ordinary one. This body of water is fed by an underground spring and
thus never dries up, even in the dry seasons. Because of that, the foliage
around the lake is constantly watered and lush. When the lake gets too
high due to the rains, it runs off into the nearby marsh and is easily
sucked up by the thick mud.
The lake itself has a white sandy bottom, and because it is fed by
a spring, the water is crystal clear, allowing you to see the bottom
and anything that lurks within the waters. This is simply the best spot
to drink in the entire Kwasi lands, for its supply is cool and refreshing.
The sand upon its banks is the same that makes up the bottom, allowing for
a narrow strip of beach. A few trees have taken root here as well, the
healthy plants offering shade to the lake's visitors.
Exits:
North towards the Acacia, SouthWest to the Marsh
SouthEast to the Hills
Kismet, female lioness
Kisala, female lioness
Xirix, female lioness
Nephthys, female lioness
Sprawled out at the lake is the golden furred frame of Kismet, lightly batting at the water's surface, giggling to herself. She is playing 'tag' with a water strider it seems, and the bug is hopping up, and down over the water, leaping about her paw as she swipes out. "Iiiiii'm ganna getcha.... an theeeeen ah'm ganna eaaaatcha!" She croons out as her tail snaps about her ankles in a quick see-saw motion, slapping upon the muddy surface beneath her. Her eyes squint playfully, sticking the tip of her tongue out at the bug.
From the south comes Kisala, her paws lightly coated in mud, she's been down to the border, patrolling abit with how quiet it has been lately. Her tail flicking side to side as she comes along, her ears perking and looking on to finally spot Kismet, "Hey Kismet.." she calls softly, to announce her presence. Not her normal spotless self, she comes near and flops down on the ground nearby, looking slightly on the thin side and needing abit of grooming.
Having been hiding out in the fringes of the lands in shame.. it seems that Sethos has finally started to make his appearance again. The reason for that being the nice dark mane that's growing around his neck once more. Its not fully there yet... but is growing back rather nicely. Darker... and having the potential to be a lot fuller than before. Its about d**n time, says he. A lash of the tail and the king is making his way into the heart of Kwasi once more. No longer trying to hide himself and coming upon the lake where two lionesses seem to be already.
"Ey' Kisala." Kismet says in a chipper drawl, reaching out to splash her paw at the water again, before allowing her new insect pal to scuttle off. "You haven't been eating?" She asks as she sizes up the thinned out girl for a moment, rising up to her paws. Bowing herself forward, she gives herself a good stretch, then allows her eyes to fall upon Sethos in the distance. Playfully, she cat-calls out to him. "Woohoo! Nice looking mane you got thar!"
"Do me a favor. Don't mention food." She says softly, laying her head on her paws, she's been feeling awful lately and would rather not go running for the marsh where she's been off and on hiding out. Flicking her tail slowly from haunch to haunch, her gaze comes on Sethos, tilting her head abit upon her paws, looking at the slightly different King of Kwasi.
A cocky smirk slides onto Sethos' muzzle at the cat calls from Kismet.. his pace turning to a swagger as he make she way towards the female. "Oh? I haven't noticed" the grin playing on his features. However, it falters after he takes one good look at Kisala. The lion pausing some feet away to lift a brow at her, "d**n.. you look awful." Way to go there, Captain Obvious.
"Alrightie." Kismet says as she offers up a grin towards Sethos, winking in his direction as her ears perk forward. "I think you have noticed!" She says with a light laugh as she nearly bounces her way over to him, leaning in to ram her head into his shoulder, giving him a firm butting, then starts off through the grass. "Well, I'm hungry, so I'm ganna get something to snack on." She calls out over her shoulder.
"Gee thanks. Why don't you just wave a carcass in front of me /Fluffy/!" Kisala rather shoots out without a thought. Watching Kismet dash off, she otherwise hopes her pridalsister won't bring it back. Moodiness at it's finest. She flicks her gaze from Sethos to the ground at her muddy paws she uses for a pillow. Her poor frame, not to the usual fullness and sleekness, her fur abit dull and lacking in shine, a sure sign of a bit of malnutrition.
Snr. Somehow Xirix knew she shouldn't have unglued her side from Nephthys', and that nagging feeling was right. The paws that carry the lioness are silent, meticulously careful, though she isn't stalking anybody. In fact, she's only protecting herself from a potential danger; you never know who's lands you might be tresspassing. Pale chin is tilted up momentarily, and she pauses.. a single forepaw held mid-air as she does so. Where -are- you, Neph? Crimson brows frown over strikingly pale green eyes, thiking hard where her best friend could possibly be. Soon enough, however, the rusty cinnamon hued female is on her way to the heart of the Kwasi lands; the Lake. The smell of water and healthy plants guiding her to the water source of the local pride within a few moments. Perhaps her counterpart is visiting the lake for a drink? It makes sense.. after all, they've traveled quite a bit before getting here. However, Xir' comes to a sudden halt at the sight of what seems to be a pridal gathering. Two lionesses and what seems to be .. an adolescent male..? Involuntarily, a single brow quirks all the way up. Huh? Tounge slowly sticks out, brushing delicately against her lips. "Excuse me." Pretty much an interruption, but she's no good at playing 'Miss Congeniality', her tail gives an energetic swing to the side.
Sethos blinks once as Kismet heads away.. watching her go before looking back to Kisala at her remark. However, it hardly seems to faze him any. "Are you alright?" he then asks in a more even tone, perhaps even concerned. An ear turning to the side before his blue gaze settles on another approaching lioness.. this one he's unfamiliar with. "Who are you?" he asks rather bluntly, glancing against at Kisala as if she might have an explanation or know who she is.
Kisala watches the stranger come, yet she makes no effort to stand or be defensive. She flicks her tail a few more times before at least lifting her ill groomed head from her paws and giving a sigh. At Sethos' questioning gaze she gives a short shrug of her shoulders showing she's not all that sure herself. It's been quite but she's been spending alot of time in the marsh with a less than perfect stomach.
Unfortunately for the male, his pridal lioness doesn't have the answers to everything ... or at least not to this particular question. However, the cinnamon hued feline seems to be curious of what Kisala's response might be.. so her pale gaze focusses intensely on the thinned out female, coming to notice the condition of the other female. Hm, so much for keeping lionesses happy and healthy, eh? Her eyes, once again, return to the pretty much maneless male, though they remain incredibly calm there is something in them.. almost accusing him, but maybe this isn't a pride.. that would explain everything. The lioness' tail gives a rather abrupt twitch, before ir curves in a semi-circle upwards. "Simply a wanderer," Why do you ask? Her brows quirk, this time the two of them in return. Xirix takes a slow look around. "You?"
Hey now! He takes good care of his lionesses thank-you-very-much! XO Hmph! He would be insulted by that if he knew. XD Sethos' brows furrow a bit as he stares evenly at the stranger lioness. True.. he's not at his best right now.. but he still is the ultimate authority here. "I'm the King here" .. That's who he is! And she better not forget it! The male snorts, brows furrowing a bit as he practically dares her to laugh. X(
"Kisala...on a good day, hunter around here. Got a name?" She asks, getting to her paws and shaking out her dingy coat, a bit of loose, dull hair falling free. What is going on with her? Giving a stretch she feels her stomach get abit queasy, drawing an odd look to her face. Temporarily forgetting the stranger she takes the few steps to the lake and makes an attempt and squelching her stomach's queasiness with water.
Mokuba pads into the area and lets out a chuffing roar to his brother in greeting. He smiles eyeing the elder sibling and reveling in the fact that he had almost more mane than Sethos did! He peers at the stranger as he enters and then goes over and plops himself down by his big bro. He peers over at Kisala and frowns. Sheesh! Did everyone get mange while he'd been off exploring again!? Nobody looked their best!
Luckily, Xirix doesn't speak the whole extent of whatever crosses her mind, otherwise she'd probably be dead by now. Although it's true she's known for being rather blunt, this isn't the ocassion. She isn't here to chit-chat.. she needs to find her best friend. As ironic as it might sound, even creatures as cold and distant as Xirix need someone to rely on and, in this case, Nephthys is that creature. It causes a bit of anxiety to be separated from your childhood friend in unknown lands, you know? But none of this can be read in the cinnamon hued female. Her washed out green eyes slowly follow Mokuba as he seats himself beside .... "... ..The King?" Whatever composture and calm she had twists into a momentary fit of laughter. That.. maneless thing is a King? What the ...! However, the laughter is short-lived, and she simply focusses on Kisala instead, a small bemused smile still toying her lips. "Xirix." Chin dips barely in a formal greeting.
Well. How rude. u_u A brief glance is given to his brother as Mokuba sits next to him. Sethos might have given his sibling a greeting or something, but he's rather distracted by the laughter coming from Xirix. He scowls, but says nothing... merely leering as he waits for her to get it over with. Lacking in mane he may be.. but in size and strength he was not. He could clobber her if he saw it fit, but Sethos retains his composure.. for now. Not seeming all that inclined to volunteer his name at the moment, however. The male certainly not looking in the least bit amused.
In a page-pose to you, Mokuba Figured it was something like that
Finishing her lapping of water, quite abit actually, she comes to sit a few paces away from Sethos, watching as Mokuba approaches, "Hey Mokuba." She offers softly to the young male, finally letting her green gaze focus back on Sethos and this...Xirix. "Yes..the king. And this the Prince." She motions to Mokuba, pondering the laughter after a moment, but looking at Sethos abit and the very different mane. "Maybe alittle less fur, but at least he's not completely maneless. And the color suits him..you." Deciding to offer the King abit of an ego boost after her earlier snap at him.
"What're you laughin' about!?" Mokuba demands, glaring at Xirix, "He could whip your tail if he wanted! What're you doin' here! Obviously, you're not one of ours!" he growls, grinning at Kisala as she comes over to defend Sethos's standing. He smiles and winks at the female as he allows her to distract him a bit from the new girl. "Wait....completely maneless...are you talking about ME!?" he demands, bristling and suddenly defensive.
There's very little Sethos can do about the situation; chase her off or let her stay a little longer. However, Xirix seems to have plans of her own today, and she confidently moves forward, straight in the direction of Sethos, Mokuba and, not too far ahead, Kisala at the lake. The lioness might be bold, but she isn't stupid .. at least, not much. Just daring, and always willing to push the right buttons. "Lighten up, I'm not here to cause you any trouble, Kingy." She simply passes the 'King' by, tailtip merely brushing the local monarch's chin before she comes to stand a few feet away from Kisala. Hey, she seems to be the smart one here! "Informative, yes." Mutters the cinnamon tinted female, a white paw pointing at the thinned lioness' chest. "Anyway, I'm just looking for my friend. Have you seen her? She's got a pale muddy coat.. black paws..?" And she seems to trail off as Mokuba shouts.. her eyes fix on the Prince's form, casting a rather unfazed look .. and no, the young one isn't given any kind of response. The lioness looks back to Kisala a bit expectantly.
Sethos's gaze narrows slightly as he watches Xirix move towards Kisala and ask her questions. The male not so much as twitching as the tail passes under his chin. Only his lionesses are allowed to do that sort of thing. u_u However, instead of chewing out Xirix, he instead lifts a paw and places it on Mokuba's shoulder. His voice stern, but not harsh, "That's enough, Mokuba. She's not talking about you." Moving towards the two females, he snorts lightly, "Even if your friend is here.. which I doubt. She needs my permission to roam these lands, and the same goes for you." His voice now holding a slight edge to it.
"Not you Mokuba...your's will fill out quite nicely I'm sure. I ment that creepy thing that used to lurk outside the borders." Surely Mokuba has no idea what creepy thing outside she's talking about. But Sethos should. Kisala's green gaze doesn't faulter through Mokuba's yelling, she watches the stranger approach Sethos, then herself. Eyeing the paw that comes near her chest, her poor stomach giving a slight lurch but she manages to keep a grimace from her face. "We don't have any white lioness around..." giving a questioning glance Sethos' way before returning to Xirix, "granted I've been..busy in the marsh, I've been close to the border alot as well. Til now that is." Her attention momentiarly distracted by Sethos' approach now, "Easy sire...I don't think she means harm."
Mokuba sits down again when he feels his brother's restraining paw on his shoulder and he sulks a bit. "Mgh." he frowns, looking up at Sethos and whispersing, "What's up with Kisala? Is she sick?" he asks in a quiet voice so hopfully neither of the females would hear what he was asking. He trails off with his questioning when Sethos gets pissy with the new-girl and just sits there before he begins grooming his leg.
Boo hoo hoo. When Sethos speaks to his brother, Xirix tries her best not to smirk.. and it's good that Kisala speaks up right on time to stop Xirix from opening her maw again and probably dig her grave in the process. Her dark rusty rimmed ears fold backwards momentarily at the response she's given. "Oh, no no no. She's not white.. her coat is brownish.. darker than mine.. and she has black paws, muzzle and all." She tries again, but before she can get any further responses from Kisala, Sethos comes their way again. The cinnamon tinted female does her best to resit the urge to roll her eyes at what she's told.. but she does cast a thankful smile to the lioness. See? She IS smart! Why would Xirix want to mess with these two overly-macho males? She gives him the 'Is that so?' look at the King, but what comes out is slightly more polite. "I am sure she is somewhere in your lands, permission or not." A single shoulder lifts in a slow shrug. "But, if I am to look for her, and I apparently need 'permission' to remain here a little longer..." The female trails off, slowly settling upon her haunches beside Kisala. "So be it. How do I 'buy' your permission," Pause. "Sire?" Smirk.
A glance at Mokuba indicates that he has no idea what's wrong with Kisala. He asked, and only got a shrug.. so. XD Sethos is just generally a moody lion... although he didn't think he was being -that- pissy about it.. but apparently they're all reading it that way. "Its rather simple, actually" he replies to Xirix, taking Kisala's words into mental note, "... Ask." He wasn't in the mood to get into a tiff with a flippin female today, the king then turning and flicking his tail across Xirix's cheek. So there. XD Sethos moves back to his brother and sits beside him once more.
Hearing only a murmer from Mokuba's whisper to Sethos, her ear flicks in their direction for a moment but dismisses them. Kisala stays quiet for several moments, "white or brownish, I haven't seen her personally." Her gaze travelling to her king, "I've been on the border off and on, but with as quiet as it has been til now. It is vey possible, sir..that her sister wandered in without notice." Giving a questioning look to Xirix as she takes a seat beside her, smart or not, she's attempting to get a grasp on dealing with strangers, besides, Xirix is sassy like she was when entering Kwasi, she herself riled Sethos up into a similiar state, her first evening within his borders. Thus, the young lioness finds this all quite entertaining even if her stomach feels like absolute hell. The sickly looking lioness can't help but smirk at Sethos' typical stubborness, she gives Xirix a nod towards him, very softly whispering, "stubborn males...but soft and fluffy like a new born cub." For only her to hear.
Scowling and feeling a bit confused and ignored, Mokuba decides to head off and find a soft, quiet place to lay down. Kisala and Sethos seemed to have this all taken care of. He nods to the female and then to his brother before getting up and padding off towards the cave, intent on getting a good rest.
Wow, is it that simple? Nyagh. However.. it's a shame, really, that Sethos had to simply turn around and return the gesture.. for Xirix isn't as nice as he is. As soon as the tuft of his tail is brushing the last bit of her muzzle, she catches the very tip of it between her teeth carefully and, with the lion walking away .. well, let's say she tugs a few hairs from his tail, little enough so it shouldn't hurt a great deal. No, she doesn't necessarily agree with the 'Two can play the same game' statement. So there. Jaws open to let the few hairs from Sethos' tail fall to the ground below, and Xir' looks back to Kisala. Aw, she's coming to like this lioness! She lowers her head a bit to hear the comment, and simply laughs .. not loudly, but a short, bemusedl laugh. Soft and fluffy? Like a newborn cub? Speaking of humiliating! Xirix gets back on all fours without looking at the males, and frowns a little bit. "Anyway, I'm off .. the sooner I find Neph', the sooner we're out of here." There's a small pause, when she looks around carefully. "Thanks for your help," Though the cinnamon coated feline looks at Kisala, it -might- be directed towards Sethos .. or it might not. Who knows.
Does she think she'll get a rise out of him or something? He's not going to give her that satisfaction, the male acting like nothing happened as his tail is caught and hairs pulled from it. Although smirking mentally as he feels out this stranger lioness. Not hearing Kisala's comment.. it wouldn't really matter much as he's use to such things from his pride. e_e He looks on as Xirix makes her departure. So much for asking. He snorts faintly, but seems to pass it off for now. Some of his current lionesses were by far more annoying than this one when he first met them.
Greenish brown eyes follow Mokuba towards the cave, a tired look about her she will no doubt go for a night indoors for once. Kisala watches Xirix begin to depart, giving the lioness a weak smile "Good luck in finding her. If I see her I'll let her know your looking for her." Choosing it best to ignore the tail bit, it's not her tail. Hehe. She approaches Sethos slowly, giving him a very light head butt into the newly grown mane, "Stop being so huffy. She reminds me for myself coming into Kwasi. I had you fairly riled as well and I turned out okay if I do say so myself."
Oh yes! She didn't ask, did she? Too bad, so sad.. Xirix pretty much assumed he had given her the 'permission' and, unless he says otherwise, it'll probably remain that way. She turns around briefly to nod at Kisala, flashing a brief smile to the lioness as she walks off. Oddly enough, she doesn't stop to take a drink. She won't eat or drink until she finds her soul sister once for all. Dark, rusty rimmed ears tilt forward, and the reddish hued female trots out of the scene towards the lone acacia tree, tail swaying rythmically behind her.
"I'm not huffy" he insists with a.. huff. "Besides.. Tulila was far worse than the both of you put together when I first met her. She's not that big of a deal." Har. He's hardly that concerned about her, but just the same.. he's going to keep an eye on her. The fiery lionesses are the most... interesting, in his opinion. A look is given in the direction that Mokuba went, frowning lightly to himself before looking back to Kisala and her sorry state. "You should rest, and have that mouse look at..." he then pauses as a thought comes to mind. Wait a minute... Tulila was really sick once... and the mouse looked at her and told her she was pregnant. ... Uh oh. XDD
Occupied with Sethos for a few moments, she almost misses Xirix's smile, Kisala of course having manners responds with a smile in return. "If you say so...but I think I've been around long enough to tell your huffy." Giving Sethos a light bap on the nose with her tail as she turns to lay back down abit, might as well enjoy quiet company while she doesn't have her head in the awful marsh loosing what she hasn't eaten in days now. "That mouse? No thank you, I don't want her crawling all over me and pokin' me with her lil needle things." She's young, she doesn't know what her king has done to her, she missed most of Tulila's early pregnancy, she assumes her last kill was sick itself, thus it rots in the marshes.
Sethos does things to lionesses. XDD Cough. The king clears his throat and decides not to mention it. That might be best. "Fine." Besides.. it might not be for sure. They'll just have to wait and see what happens. However, he does like Kisala and is somewhat concerned. Thus, he settles down on his stomach next to her, determining to stay with her for now. Not actually admitting to such of course.
"Don't touch the impala in the marsh. I think that is what made me sick." Laying her head on her paws as Sethos settles at her side, "Haven't been able to hold anything down since so I moved it out." Kisala says softly, happy her stomach has temporarily settled, she gives a soft yawn, switching her head from her paws to Sethos. Letting her eyes slide shut as she begins to doze off.
"I'll keep that in mind" he replies, lifting a brow at the thought of a kill being contaminated. He sighs quietly, looking down as Kisala's head rests on his paws. Hm. After a few moments, he rests his chin on her shoulders before drifting off eventually as well. <3
