This is an old log - Anubis is an adolescent here - that is one of my favorite RPs ever. A /classic/, even. Salinaka and I call it the "Babies, Sir, Babies" RP. In it are Anubis and Tanafusi. They were almost a THING.. but then sometime after this RP, Anubis screwed things up by pretending to be dying and Tana' didn't think it was funny and so their hawt relationship, like, died. But it all worked out, because Annie then went to Kimondo and shacked up with Sakitu.. and the rest, as they say, is history! But yes. This is before that. XD
Also note.. this is before Anubis liked kids. During his adolescence he was a lazy butt lion.. wanted nothing to do with responsibility or kids or anything.
Well, forget what Tazamika says! Not that she cared to begin with. Tanafusi
went for a roll in the mud. A few days have passed since her last visit to
Kivuli--long enough for her to pretend she's accepted her punishment, and escape
again. It all seems to have phased her little, if at all. The mud pool isn't
the largest, but it's big enough for her - and probably that warthog that had
been hanging around. She didn't /mean/ to frighten him off, but that tends to
happen. Now, on her side, the young lioness caked in drying mud, she lies off
to the side of the pool, head on her grimey paws, eyes closed as she bakes in
the sun. Mmm, lioness mud pie.
Anubis' thoughts linger on his discussion the previous evening with his father.
While relieved that Cairo has forgiven both Xian and himself for their long trip
to the Forgotten Lands, Annie can't help but feel like something is still not
right with the world. Unable to figure it out, and thusly unable to sleep with
something bothering him, the ivory boy had taken to wandering Kivuli all night,
and he collapsed early in the morning hours by the lake. Now awake once more,
Anubis still hasn't a clue what else could have been bothering Cairo. Trying to
push the thought from his mind, Annie has decided a roll through the mud pool
would be a very fine idea. Until, that is, he comes onto the scene to find
someone else already stretched out nearby. And he doesn't even recognize
Tanafusi at first. Clearing his throat to catch her attention, the young male
strides forward, head held proudly. Show off. "Hello, miss."
The sound of pawsteps cause Tanafusi to give her head a little jerk as she lifts
it and opens her eyes slowly. Her eyes, nose, and mouth are clean, or at least
cleaner than the rest of her, but her cheeks and the rest of her face are still
mud-covered. Of course, that swaggering step in Anubis' gait is swift to bring
a smirk to her lips, before she realizes just how .. sweet an opportunity this
is. That smirk is quickly wiped off her muzzle. "Noon, sir," she
says in a voice not quite her own, a little higher, and with the edge of a
strange accent on it. "How's th'day findin' y'?"
And Anubis, poor, slow Anubis, doesn't yet recognize her. He finds the accent a
bit weird, having never heard one like it, but assumes she is from a far off
pride. All the better, he thinks, for you never know.. foreign girls might find
him much more impressive than the local bunch. Maybe white-fur is some sort of
high social status in her pride or summat. "Not too shabby," The
Prince drawl casually, sidling closer with a charming grin plastered on his
lips. "Yourself?"
Oh, it's hard not to laugh, but Tanafusi pulls off her act seamlessly. Shoving
up to her paws as he answers, mud cracking and crumbling off her in some places,
and pulls a seductive expression, batting her eyes at him. "Oh, sir, ..
m'day 'as proved much better since -you- arrived, .." She swings her tail
once, and then pulls her head away and glances off, looking forlorn. "I
found m'self lost in this strange, strange land! Took a roll in this mud 'ere
t'cool off, as th'morn' was hot .. thought I woulda baked by afternoon, I did.
But now, you've come!" She turns back dramatically towards him, ears high,
eyes /earnest/. Tanafusi is good. "A fine, 'andsome boy; surely such a
fine lion can 'elp me?"
Anubis is a bit.. shocked.. by her reaction. While he struts around like the
Great King's gift to lionesses he's never run across a lioness whose actually
reacted /favorably/ to him. Or, at least, not /as/ favorably. Her words, of
course, boost the young lion's ego sky high. "Of course, my dear," The
teen rumbles, drawing himself to his full height and trying to look as
important, and attractive, as he can. Oh Anubis.. can't tell you're being
played, can you? No.. Annie is still completely clueless as to the young
female's real identity.
Hm. Tanafusi was sure he would've cracked and lost his nerve by now! She'll
just have to push him farther. She's good at it! "Oh, I knew
y'would!" she croons, hurrying forward a few paces - mud still dropping -
and bumping her head under his chin. Where's her Academy Award? Really.
"My daddy ran me outta my pride .. I'm all alone!" she says, drawing
back. "I said I wanted babies, and he said, babies? An' I said, babies!
An' he said I was a crazy girl! Booted me right out, said 'e would have none o'
my 'foolish, girlish dreams'! Oh, how I want ... /babies/!" Oh, this
ought to be good. She stares imploringly up at her /Knight/. BABIES.
Mlio has arrived.
Anubis is a bit shocked.. but quite pleased with himself.. as her head brushes
beneath his chin. But before the young Prince can go about doing anything all
romantical - such as offering a purr in return or saying that, yes, he would
help because he's such a brave, noble lion - she starts blabberin' on about
babies. ... Give it a moment. ... ... ... BABIES?!?! Anubis skitters back a few
paces, staring at the muddy lioness with wide crimson eyes. Oh, no. Babies are
not good. Babies require the 'R' word - responsibility. And responsibility is
something Anubis has no liking for. His jaw works but no words are forthcoming.
She's stunned Annie real good. n.n Staring at her, her eyes mostly, something
begins to itch in the back of Anubis' brain. An itch of recognition.. but
nothing he can really identify yet. Give him time.
This is golden! Tanafusi is tempted to let her act drop right there and have a
great, long laugh at him - but, .. how about just a little bit more? "..
Sir?" She peers quizically at him, tilting her head. "Yer a fine,
strong man! Babies, sir! Wouldn't it be grand, t'have some little paws runnin'
around?" She smiles and glances down, using two toes on a forepaw to 'run
around' like little paws. "You .. said y'would 'elp me, kind sir. Babies,
sir." Babies, babies, BABIES.
Mlio catches sight of the two adolescents from afar, her dark ears perking to
try and gather as much information about the two as possible as she makes her
way closer to them. Well, ahh.. looks like they're a little busy. But the guy
could use a diversion, couldn't he? He -does- look like he's in some sort of
trouble.. "..Ahhm, sorry to interupt your..." she pauses, almost
visably stopping herself from saying something that'd be offensive to some
younger and older viewers. "..Mmm..yeeah." she substitutes instead,
suddenly caught in that awkward teen situation where your friends have
boyfriends and girlfriends and you don't. Look away, look away!
"B..babies?" Anubis questions, looking utterly terrified at the
thought. He can only imagine the terror that would insue from such a thing: him,
having to sit around with all those creepy little kids crawling all over him..
and this creepy lioness begging for more of her stupid babies. No way! Shaking
his head, Anubis begins to back off, not even able to come up with anything to
tell the baby-wanting female. Luckily, Mlio arrives and Anubis skitters over in
her direction with a muttered, "Hello." Crimson eyes never leave the
mud-covered lioness, though, who he is now regardng as a werid wacko.. and
making a mental note to tell Cairo to chase her off.
"But- but, babies!" insists the lioness, now staring pleadingly at
him. That is, until the other lioness makes her appearance. Tanafusi glances
her way, and decides her performance is over. Really; she deserves an award for
that. "Babies!" she chirps at Mlio once, before crumpling into a
terrible fit of laughter. Her front half bows down as she shakes her head and
gasps for breath, snippets of, "You should've seen your FACE!" heard.
Finally, her bottom half drops down with the rest of her, and, with a forepaw,
she rubs at her face, chipping the mud from it. "That was TOO GOOD."
She peers up at the boy gleefully, a wide grin spread from cheek to cheek. And
a proper greeting is given to the other lioness; "Hi!"
Xian has arrived.
Mlio eyes her two peers critically, dark tailtip flicking at her ankles as she
pauses. Her lips purse and edge in different directions, as if trying to decide
what to say, and she eventually settles on the brilliant: "Hola t'you,
too.", but follows it up with, "..J'know, you two are gonna have some
-messed up- kids.", her accent heard in a clearer display now, a little
smirk starting to work it's way across her creamy muzzle.
Blink. "/TANA/?" Anubis stares, mouth held open in surprise, at
Tanafusi. For a long moment the ivory boy hasn't a clue what to say. She..
tricked him. And what an evil, mean trick it was too! But his next words are
directed at Mlio, not Tanafusi. "We are /not/ having kids!" Annie
protests, voice squeaking slightly. "That was a mean trick," He
informs Tanafusi, leveling his gaze on her. "Mean and... not nice."
And very embarrassing. n.n; Clearing his throat and trying to ignore Tana's
laughter, he now bestows a bright smile on Mlio. "Welcome to Kivuli,
Miss...?" And he trails off, leaving her to supply her own name.
"In the /fur/!" answers the girl, her voice hoarse after all her
laughter. A last shake of her head is given before she clears her throat - but
her attention is snapped up by Mlia's remark. "But, BABIES, sir!"
And, oh no, she dies giggling again. Her face is buried in her forepaws as she
tries to cease, or at least stifle, her laughter. Finally, she lifts all
together and sits, still at the edge of the mud pool, and lets the two talk.
She'll introduce herself .. in time. When she's sure she won't laugh if she
opens her mouth.
He's been a little bored lately, and of course there's nothing else to do than
play with mud. Yes, he likes mud.. though not as much as his sibling,
apparently. Silent steps carry Xian toward the mud pool, a faint rustling
announcing his presence, catching the sight of Anubis and two other lionesses
here. "Heylo.." the young lion stretches his forelimbs and then pads
forward closer to the other leonines, ears flickering in Mlio's direction.
"New around here, I assume?" he asks, sitting calmly, tail curling
about his paws. "Hey 'nubis.. and 'ey there to you too." he greets to
the other two grinning almost deviously.
Mlio's brows raise at Anubis' smile.. noone's ever been really -happy- to see
her before. Ahwell. "Smart boy." she replies sarcastically to Xian's
'greeting' of sorts, soon looking back to Anubis.. "It's Mlio," the
girl can't help but throw her own jab at the baby joke, "Sir." She
grins like a shark, but doesn't sit just yet. Just droping by, or plain old not
sure she's welcome?
A brilliant, charming smile is offered to Mlio.. and then she has to get that
little dig in. Oy! Can't the girls just succumb to his charms and not embarrass
him? Anubis clears his throat, eyeing the wide grin on Mlio's face.
"Pleased t'meetcha, Mlio," He says finally, deciding to ignore her
jab. "The name's Anubis." Oops! Can't forget the important-sounding
title! "Prince Anubis. Anu' or Annie's fine, though." Crimson gaze is
drawn to his sibling.. who just had to pick NOW to show up, didn't he? "Yo,
Xi'." The younger boy tosses back, smirking. "Finally got your lazy
butt up, eh?" And then.. Tanafusi. Wandering over in her direction, Anubis
is unable to prevent the smirk that crosses his face. "That was NOT
nice," He repeats, tail swinging idly behind him.
Tanafusi turns her head, glancing to the gold-furred teen and then back to
Anubis; brothers? Not that they look much alike, except in size, but being that
they're of the same age, she figures they must be brothers. About to open her
mouth to respond, her attention is stolen away by Mlia's quick quip of 'sir',
and she turns a broad grin on her. Ooh, a girl who knows how to taunt! That's
her kind of friend. "I'm Tanafusi," she finally says, offering the
name up for either Mlia or Xian. ".. Oh, I know," she says as Anubis
nears, lifting a forepaw to gesture with. "But I think it was /necessary/,
you big, big flirt." Her tone is dry, but littered with amusement.
Xian grins slightly at Mlio's sarcastic response, but just shrugs it off for
now. For now, mwaha. Crimson tipted ears flicker backward a little in response
to the grin she offers to Anubis, and the older prince can't help but smirk,
"Prince charm looking for preys again, eh?" he asks raising both
eyebrows in amusement. "Uh-huh.. it was about time to wake up and start
being.. social." he says with a chuckle. "It's a pleasure,
Tanafusi."
Mlio observes Anubis' 'moves' with an interest in her smile.
"-Really-.." her accent doesn't fit the role of innocent young girl
though, really.. more angry mexican chick, if you ask me. "Nice to meet
you, Amante." Her tone changes to a casual, kicked-back male sort of sound,
"You sure you're done with your last conquest though?" the girl looks
over at Tanafusi, giving her a nod of greeting. "Looks like the chika
might still want 'chuu, man." Mlio eyes Xian a bit as she waits for Anu's
responce.. hmm. Didn't say anything..
Anubis regards his brother with a blank stare. Prince Charming? And.. to tap
Tana's own comment on there.. flirt? He is not a flirt! He's just your normal,
average, hunky lion teen who just happens to like a little female attention
s'all. n.n; And.. what's this Mlio's saying about a 'conquest'? His gaze shifts
to Tanafusi, whom he now reaches and flops his haunches down next to her.
"Am not a flirt," He responds, mock-pouting. He chooses to not respond
to Xian and Mlio's comments. Everyone's all picking on him today! XD
"You're the biggest flirt this side of the Kube River!" insists
Tanafusi with an exasperated laugh. "An' I've only known you for, what, a
coupla moons?" She grins broadly still, though; she's not /complaining/.
But it's definitely true. "This chica don't want nothin'," she
responds quickly to Mlia, arching a brow and, still, grinning. So, what's THAT
mean? .. But she moves on swiftly. "So, you two brothers?"
Xian decides to leave the comments for when him and his sibling are alone; he's
being embarrassed enough by the females here. His head thingys to the side at Mlio
and her strance accent, "Naw, we know you ain't, brother." he smiles a
little, tail tapping the ground beneath. The golden lion laughs at Tanafusi's
response to Mlio, an eyebrow quirking before he nods his head slowly. "That
we are, yup." It's almost hard to believe since they're all so different;
Anubis being white, Ronan being a darkie, him being golden and his sisters..
well, let's leave them out of the scene for now. >D
Mlio's ear flicks at the pleasantries, and the girl and her accent cut right to
the chase.. "Anyway.. look, I'm looking for a moron.." she pauses
after she says this, as if realizing something, and with a smirk continues..
"An' though I think I already -found- one.." her gaze can be followed
to Anubis, "Or two.." her eyes flick to Xian, "Neither are the
moron I'm looking for.." she grins at Tanafusi, shark showing once more.
"Anyone else from away come by here lately?"
The biggest flirt this side of the Kube River, eh? "Only with you,"
Anubis purrs to Tanafusi, smirking. Her question brings his gaze 'round to his
sibling. Different they may be, but you'd be hard pressed to find two brothers
closer than Anubis and Xian. "But I'm the better brother," Anubis
states, puffing his chest proudly. Better.. how exactly? Well.. let's not dwell
on that. It'd only lead to hours upon hours of Annie boasting. And who really
wants that? His nose wrinkles at the term 'moron'. He is not! "You can have
my cousin, Maiza. And my brother Ronnie. Two morons for th'price of one!"
He quips lightly, smirking.
Tanafusi clicks her teeth at Anubis, but as he turns away pulls an awful face,
gagging for Mlio to see. Oh, let's face it; she's a bit of a flirt too. Awful.
"Morons? Aren't these two enough for you?" she asks, flipping an
ear. Xian must be a moron too, if it's in the blood. "And-- well, /I'm/
from away. But I am, clearly, not a moron." Clearly.
Locks of crimson mane fall on his face, almost covering his eyes as he looks
down, then however, the young lion tilts his head upwards, turning to listen
Mlio's sarcasm yet again. An unimpressed, humorless smirk is offered in
response, followed by calm spoken words "There ain't any morons around, I'm
afraid... perhaps you should go and look in Mbaamwezi instead, or..
perhaps..." he pauses for a second, a devious smirk curling on his lips,
"You should go to the lake and see if you find your own reflection?"
he suggests. One insult is fine, but two is enough to make him answer with a
hint of amusement instead of sarcasm. Blueish green eyes flicker back to his
ivory sibling, "Yeah, of course." he nods, tilting his head. "But
yeah, I forgot about Maiza."
Mlio offers Xian a smirk. "I bet you only get to roll out -that- line
every other day. But seriously," the shifts her slight weight to one duo
of legs, looking from the male to female and back again, since Xian probably
lives here full-time.. or hopefully does. "He's a moron named Hilika..
got a scar on his.." her vocabulary stumbles a bit, and she almost says her
native tongue's word instead of her audience's.. "Ahh. forehead? above his
eye? I have every reason to believe that he's also out looking for the love of
his life and getting himself killed in the process, so..."
Ooh, this Mlio is a smooth tongue; like her! Awesome. Tanafusi regards her
with a calculating but growing respect, still not sure what to make of Xian.
Her ears stand tall though; "Hilika? .. Kind of dopey?" Very dopey,
really, from what she could tell. "Yeah .. saw him a little while ago,
'round the water hole. What's his deal?"
"Yeah, Yeah." Xian just laughs and shrugs it off, turning to watch
Tanafusi, then Mlio again. "I saw him too but.. at the borders." an
eyebrow raises a little curiously, tail flickering behind him. "Yeah,
what's the problem with that? Are you his sister or something?" the lion
asks, ears tucking back against his skull.
Mlio nods vigorously to Tanafusi.. she got him described down to a T. "He's
kinda messed up, yeah..." The girl looks to Xian as he speaks, though, and
peers at his downturned ears... But she's got information! S'what she came
here for. "Ahm.. no, I'm not his sister. What, you do something to him
that a sister'd beat the ever lovin' zooks out of 'chuu for doing?" the
girl's eyes narrow slightly as she regards the Heir to the Kivulian throne.
"..He's just weird. He belongs to Tyne. I woke up, got bored, couldn't
find him.. blahhblahh." ..Apparently the rest of the story is the
present.
Using a hindpaw to chip away at the mud clinging to her sides in a very
unladylike fashion, Tanafusi tries to recall anything more she noticed about
Hilika. .. In doing so, her gaze slips upward thoughtfully to the sky. When
she sees where the sun is - moving past its noontime mark - something clicks,
and her hindpaw lands with a thump. "Oh, boy," she mutters, lifting
suddenly. "I gotta get home, 'fore my parents realize I'm gone. Said I
couldn't leave the lands, but .. well, here I am." She gives a little
grin.
The lion grins, "Okay, gotcha Mlio." he nods slowly, getting on all
fours and shaking his body. "I'm afraid I don't -know- where he is right
now, honestly. However," he pauses again, "If it helps, I saw him
around the kimondo borderlands to the north of this place. I can't tell if he
moved into Kimondo or not, but maybe he was going back home." His eyes
drift to Tanafusi, nodding with a soft, almost friendly smile. "You better
go then, parents aren't nice when they're mad." And he sure knows about
that. "Take care."
Mlio isn't quite as concerned about the parental issue as the others, but nods
to Tana and offers a little smile of goodbye that turns into yet another grin.
"Run, chika, run!" The lionessgirl looks back to Xian after her
comment's made, though, eyeing him thoughtfully. "Kimondo.. They're
decent people, right?" she asks, almost musing outloud.. "Can't get
killed there, can he?"
"Oh, they'll get over it," murmurs Tana, giving her legs a few
stretches to break away some last pieces of stiff, crumbly dried mud.
"Nice meetin' you two," she says, before performing a little leap to
get herself going. "You better believe I'm runnin'!" Laughing, she
hurries off at a canter, back to the Wekundu-Kinu.
Also note.. this is before Anubis liked kids. During his adolescence he was a lazy butt lion.. wanted nothing to do with responsibility or kids or anything.

smirk starting to work it's way across her creamy muzzle.
"That
we are, yup." It's almost hard to believe since they're all so different;
