Part I, because we're in the middle of RPing. xD We were just slowed tonight by various dinners and other OOC distractions like WORK and RESPONSIBILITIES. The horror!
Also, I suck at titles. Forgive me!
Involved:
Kamau, Adol. Lion
Onaedo, Adol. Lion
Sundali, Adol. White Lioness
[Tyne] Tetesi Grasslands
Onaedo would /not/ like to play with a porcupine thank you very much! He is slowly moving along through the grasses, his shoulder bothering him, a deep gash rests across his right shoulder from the run in with the impala herd a few days ago. He has other wounds but there just mere scratches to this. At the voice his ears perk an he peers around before starting to move towards where his brother his, a faint smirk is offered once he finds Kamau and his pokey friend. "No.. I wouldn't like to play with it.. Unless you mean Eli and Atian might wana play with it."
Kamau is just about to swat at the porcupine when he hears Onaedo's voice. So, instead of get a pawfull of quills, he perks up and dashes over to his brother. "Ona! I haven't seen you around so much these days! Where've you--" he stops immediately when he notices his brother's injury and, frowning, steps closer to try and examine it. "What'd you do? Who hurt you? Can I kill it? If it was Kione I bet we could exile him, wouldn't that be fun? Are you okayyy?"
Onaedo smirks some while setting down on her haunches. "I'm fine, an it wasn't Kione." He eyes the porcupine slightly as if making sure the thing doesn't come towards them. "Ran into a impala herd the hunting party must have scared up the other day. Kione was there and actually didn't run away." Not that his taking UP for the runt but still it surprized him to say the least.
Let out of hunting practice early for the day, Sundali is finding herself quite /bored/. And thus far, she hasn't come across any of the other Tyne teens to do anything with. Kale'Kizuka, she reckons, is off marching the borders and whatever it else is that the young white male does. She hasn't seen Kamau in forever. She has't a clue where any of the other princes and princesses like to hang out. But! The girl has found hope in the fact that she has picked up on Onaedo's scent and spent the better part of the last several minutes following it. Maybe she can track down the young Lord and convince him to venture up into the mountains with her. She's always wanted to go up there. Finally, the scent begins to get fresher and - though still a ways off - she spots movement in the distance. Aha! Has to be him. Breaking into a ground eating gallop, Sunny takes a deep breath and shouts out to gain attention. "ONAEDO!"
"Oh wow. I didn't hear about that. But you'll be okay, right?" Kamau looks very concerned for his brother. The porcupine is trying to get away, but Kamau isn't paying the thing much mind anymore. The awkward teen instead continues to examine his brother, eyes worried even though they're hidden underneath his scruffy and so far sparse mane. When he hears someone - a girl someone - shouting out his brother's name though, he perks up again to look and see who it is. "Sunny?" he says quietly, though loud enough for Ona' to hear, before ducking down and looking the image of embarassed awkward teenager. "Oh, she hates me, maybe I should just go. Find lunch. Something. Errr."
"I'll live I guess.. Just hurts." Onaedo says with a huff. "Specially the other day when I had to pull some girl outa the mud, stupid thing reopened.." He pauses and blinks while peering over at the voice, ears perking as he spots Sunny. "Hey Sunny!" This said before he hears his brother and ums faintly. "Why does she hate you? She's been asking where you've been for like ever."
The white female's pace brings her quickly up to the two young males. Wait.. two? Pale golden eyes widen as recognition dawns when the second figure is brought into her view and, sliding to a dusty stop, Sundali stares at Kamau. So she's been trying to find him all this time, and he just now randomly shows up when she's out actually looking for Onaedo? Mouth parts to speak.. but a quick flick of her eyes to Onaedo makes Sunny doubletake. And when did HE get injured?! For a moment, Sunny looks almost comical, her head snapping from left to right, back and forth between the brothers, as she tries to decide who to address first, which subject is more dire. Finally, she settles for both! "What /happened/, Ona?" This asked while she stares at the gash on his shoulder, tone a mixture of worry and awe. And almost immediately after, her attention snaps to Kamau, who she views, wide-eyed. "And where the heck have /you/ been?! I've only been looking for you for, like, ever!" Unknowingly echoing Onaedo's own statement.
"She has?" Kamau asks, suddenly perking up a little. He'd ask more, but then whoosh! There she is, and he goes back to ducking back a little. Maybe he could go follow that pokeypine some more. He's glancing off behind him as Sunny talks to Ona', and when he's addressed his head snaps back around to look his friend in the eyes. "You have?" he asks, echoing his question to Ona'. "I've, uh, I've been... arrouuund." He surely sounds as awkward as he feels. "Guarding... and exploring. And learning some things." He shifts his feet a little, suddenly longing for the days when he could disappear easily among these long grasses. "Why?"
"Its nothing Sunny, just a run in with a impala herd a few days ago." Onaedo says as if it was nothing, but it hurts like heck when ever he moves. "Then I pulled some girl outa the mud down by the river so it reopend the wound and all. It'll heal I guess." He smirks at his brother. "Yes.. meaning his been avoiding us Sunny." Of course his gona try and get his dear brother in trouble.
A long look given to Onaedo, and brows raise slightly. "You pulled a girl out of the mud?" That sounds like interesting news. Sundali hasn't heard of any other girls being in or around the lands (not that she's ever really in a position to know these things, being trained as a huntress as she is) and her curiosity is perked. A faint smirk appears on the white girl's muzzle, one brow raising slightly. "A cute girl?" She teases Ona, reaching out to poke him lightly in the chest with a forepaw. But a blink of pale eyes, and her attention turns to Kamau, where her grin fades to confusion, brows knitting together. "'Course I have." Her friend doesn't sound all that convincing, and Sunny is inclined to agree with Onaedo that they've been avoided by the other male. "WHY? Why else? I felt bad for yelling at you in front of everyone.. I wanted to apologize." Her voice goes softer near the end, her eyes drifting away in embarassment. Not only did she argue with Kamau, in front of others, but she got herself berated by one of the Kings. Never a good way to make your presence felt in the pride, you know?
Kamau looks equally interested when Ona' brings up a girl. "Yea, which girl? One of our nieces?" he asks, skeptical that Onaedo could have saved any 'cute' girl from any rivers. Besides, there is a lack of cute girls around. Well, except Sunny, but she doesn't count. Ahem. Speaking of which, he turns back to the girl, still looking sheepish. "I was not avoiding anyone!" Lies, all lies. "I've just been busy. Guarding. Lots of things to guard against these days." More lies. He looks even more awkward when she mentions apologies, and his head dips down. "Oh. I see." He shifts his paws again, completely unsure of what he's supposed to do, and his eyes glance off to the side as well. Heyyy look at the pretty grasses. Maybe he'll just go over there? Maybe? Soon?
Onaedo blinks as he hears Suny and ums faintly while glancing off at the talk of the girl he got free from the mud. "I dono.. Naw someone I don't know..well yet.." His glad the talk is off of him and on to his brother again, though he wishes he got the girls name. Oh well. "Ya Kamau.. Wait.. what.." He eyes Sunny and then looks to his brother. "What is she apologizing for anyway?" Someone has been kept in the dark about the problems going on.
"You saved a girl from the mud and didn't even get her name?" Sundali grins at Onaedo, amused. "Ona.. I think as a male, you fail." It's said only in jest, of course. She wasn't there so she doesn't know exactly what went down. Still, the mental picture is funny: Onaedo, grieviously injured, helping some incredibly attractive young lioness from the mud.. and then somehow not getting her name, or who she was, or why she was there. But her attention shifts back to Kamau. Guarding, he says? If Sunny hadn't been talking to Kale' and known that the white prince, who she knows actually HAS been guarding, hadn't seen Kamau, she would be more likely to believe his story. As it stands now, she's not convinced. But at least willing to let it go. It hardly matters anyway, given that he's here now. And then, awkward silence, broken by Onaedo's questioning. Sunny looks between the brothers, settling eventually on Kamau. She'll let him tell Onaedo as much or as little as he wants about what happened between them down by the river that day. For her part, Sunny is just eager to get her long awaited apology over with. "Look, Kamau.." She begins, dropping her gaze to her own forepaws. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to get so angry and to yell and curse and everything. I guess I was just..." But she trails off, unable to think of just why she got so worked up. Shaking her head, the girl continues. "But I am sorry."
Kamau tilts his head at his brother a little and narrows his head. "But you didn't answer Sunny. Is she cute?" Really, it's a brotherly obligation to inform all other single brothers of the presence of any cute females in or near the premesis. And as a matter of fact, Kamau really HAS been guarding, like the good little guard he is! Or did Sunny not remember he got his little promotion right after she /yelled/ at him. Which, by the way, he isn't going to talk about. Nope. Even to Onaedo. At least, not to Onaedo when Sunny is /right there/. "You were just /what/?" he asks, looking back at the girl. Because in his mind, he still didn't see what he did wrong. She was just /being irrational/ is what she was. But something tells him, that's not something he should say right now.
"If she's cute why would I tell you?" Onaedo says with a sly grin while eyeing Kamau. "Anyway, she was covered in mud. If you like lioness covered in mud I guess she was alright." He didn't really get to talk to her, and if Kamau goes muscling in he'll not be to happy. "An.. someone is gona tell me something if I have to pin them down and tickle it out of them." An yes he would, EVEN with a hurt shoulder. An yes he did pull Anasa out, with the help of a long stick thank you.
There is a faint twitch of Sundali's tail, and a mild flare of irritation at the young Lord she's trying to apologize to. He could have been nicer on that day as well, and here she is apologizing and he's not even at least saying he accepts it? But, gaze flicking to meet Kamau's, she sighs. "I was just... annoyed," She says after a few moments. "You.. you /both/.." And here she looks over to Onaedo as well. "..acted as if it was some great crime that I might have possibly wanted to hang out with Runt. And then..." Her attention swings back to Kamau. "You said that I was ignoring you just because Runt called me 'pretty.'" Here, the adolescent female frowns. "That /hurt/, Kamau. Do you honestly think I'm /that/ shallow? I hadn't even /noticed/ he'd said anything of the sort until you pointed it out. And /yes/," She continues, getting into a rhthym now that she's actually speaking to him after so long. "It /was/ nice of him to say so. I won't claim that I didn't like it. No one else has ever told me that before and it was cute that he'd noticed. But I was annoyed, because you were acting like I was going out of my way to ignore you and Ona' and I wasn't.. I came back because I'd missed you guys. More than you'll /ever/ know."
"What?" Kamau asks innocently. "Afraid she'd get one look at me and want a new hero?" He's just joking, of course. As if he'd steal his brother's ladies. Well. Maybe if they were really cute ladies. But after that, he's back to ignoring Onaedo and turns to Sunny. What? Is she mad /again?! Women! "You WERE ignoring me," he points out. "I was standing right there and you didn't even say hello!" But then she goes on about missing them, and he suddenly looks sheepish again. "Oh," he says quietly, looking away once more. "Well. You didn't do a very good job of /showing/ it, you know. You ran off so fast. And then you /yell/ at me the next time I see you. After you up and left without saying /goodbye/ in the first place. Not that I'm trying to blame you for any of it, but what am I supposed to think?"
Onaedo smirks at his brother. "Please Kamau, you was trying to play with a pokeypine which could have left you withput a paw. You an't no one's hero but a bugs perhaps." He blinks and looks to Sunny, lisitioning to what she says, his ears lower and he clears his throat. "I'm sorry Sunny.. I didn't mean to make you feel that way.. really." He says while giving his brother the eveil eye to try and make him say sorry to Sunny to. Hey she is one of there best friends here he isn't going to lose her because his brother is being a rhino's butt about it. He lifts a forpaw and goes to smack out at his brother's head as if trying to knock some sense into him it seems.
"Yes, I know I ignored you. And then I got upset. I'm /apologizing/ for that /now/, though." Sundali points out, though it is said quietly and without heat as most of her annoyance fades. "I was annoyed that I'd come back, and you guys seemed upset that I didn't come find you right away, the second I set foot back in Tyne, like I should have ignored the fact that I was tired and thirsty and just come and found you. I'm sorry I yelled. Really." Sundali shifts, reajusting her distribution of weight, and bites back a comment that she's feeling like she's being made out to be the only bad guy here. But her ears perk, and gaze shifts to Onaedo at his apology, and Sunny gives him a smile. "Thanks, Ona. I probably shouldn't've taken it so hard. I know it seems strange to have missed Runt, but I did.. but I /did/ miss you guys more." They've been her bestest pals for a long time, after all. With more from Kamau, though, the adolescent hangs her head, again focusing all attention on her forepaws. When she speaks, her voice is even more quiet than before. "Look.. I'm sorry I left. There.. there was something I had to do. And it wasn't something I wanted you guys to be there for. I didn't actually mean to /leave/ or be gone all that long, but I got out of Tyne, and got turned around... I'm sorry about that, too."
Kamau ducks away from his brother's paw, frowning a bit. He's trying to listen to the lady talking! He continues to look a little skeptical, up until she says she missed them /more/. That right there is the key. "Ohh. I'm sorry too. I guess that was kind of silly of us." He looks over to Ona'. "Though I didn't really mean it like that. At the time, I thought you'd meant you were back for days and days and just wandering around bored or something. But then that doesn't sound much like you either..." he muses. As she goes on about 'something she had to do' and so forth, he tilts an ear at her, but doesn't ask anything. He isn't sure it's the sort of thing she wants to talk about, and it sounds like /feelings/ and things. As a teenaged male, he does his best to stay away from such topics, and as a kid who's long since been hiding most of those sorts of emotions away, he doesn't know how to approach them anyway. "...So. So we're still friends, right?" he asks, now sounding a little nervous. Like he's afraid she'll say no.
Onaedo offers a smile back to Sundari. "No, its alright.. We shouldn't have acted like that. Right Kamau?" He questions while swatting his brother with his tail, he'll get him one way or another! A ear twitches at the talk about the runt, and he finds it amusing that she doesn't use his name either, harhar. His ears perk while he looks to Sundari about the friend bit. "Well I know she still wants to be my friend, dono about you stinky Kamau." This said with a joking tone and sly grin.
Inwardly, Sundali is glad that no questions are asked of her absence. She'll have to deal with all of that soon enough, she figures, and to put it off for another time - when she and Kamau aren't on such a slippery slope concerning their friendship - is a huge relief. Pale golden eyes remain firmly fixed on the ground between her forepaws before Kamau speaks again, and her head snaps up, eyes wide.. as if she had been worrying the exact same thing. The /last/ thing Sunny ever wanted was to ruin her friendship with Kamau. Or Onaedo. And to not have been able to hang out with the /both/ of them lately, when that was one of the reasons she even tried so hard to work her way back to Tyne.. it hasn't been all that much fun. Slowly, a grin spreads across the girl's muzzle and with a breath of laughter, she bounds over to the teenage Lord and rears back on her hindpaws, swinging her forepaws playfully at his head. "I'll knock you into next /moon/ if you try to make me ditch a friend like /you/," She teases, lighthearted. "Even if Ona is right and you /are/ stinky!" All said in fun, of course. She'll just be glad to have her friend, /both/ of them, back again so that they can continue on as normal.
Kamau jumps a little when Ona' whacks him with his tail, narrowing his eyes over at his brother. Not that he's actually mad, he's just carefully considering the pros and cons of tackling the boy right now. On the one hand, it'd be fun. On the other, if he loses he may lose face in front of Sunny. Then again, Sunny can probably outpounce them both. Hmm. His pale blue eyes swivel back to Sunny, and he starts to smile again. "Just so long as I can knock /you/ to the next /something further than the moon/ if you even think of ditching me," he beams, stepping forward to try and bump his head against her shoulder. It's maybe two seconds after that that he remembers they aren't kids anymore, and only /kids/ or gross people like Elim' and Aitan do stuff like that with girls, and he's hurriedly backing up to to sit down and pretend that nothing ever happened. Nope. Ever. Hey look, a biiiird.
Sundali laughs, and grins at Kamau. "Deal!" Anything to make sure they're friends again. Although she does look amused when he hurries back to sit down again. What was that about? But Sunny decides to dismiss it - boys are weird! - and beams happily at both her friends, looking back and forth between one and the other. WELL! "I don't know about /you/ guys, but I have the rest of the day off from training.." She begins, expression taking on a sly edge. "And I have been /dying/ to have an adventure around here again. Like up into the /mountains/." Sunny's gaze drifts beyond the two Lords to eye the western mountains. "I hear a ton of /weird/ animals live in mountains. And that if you can catch a pure white one, of any of the animals that live in the mountains, it's supposed to bring you good luck!"
Kamau looks to Sunny again, perking up when adventures are mentioned. "Just like old times?" he asks with a small smile. Then, getting back to his feet, he starts trotting off to said mountains. "I think we have to! And last one there is as smelly as a wet Onaedo!" he laughs. Sure, a part of him feels like he is much too old for this, but they missed out on some prime Sunny advneturing time, so they have to make up for it now. Naturally. Though he slows down for a moment to turn and have a look at Sunny. "Pure white animals? Liiiike... you?"
Onaedo blinks and tilts his head while glancing towards the mountains. "What's so special about the.. Oh.. Where did you hear /that/ from?" This questioned as he looks back to Sundari. "I never heard anything about that." The lord grins while eyeing Sunny from under his mess of mane called bangs. "Well.. your all white.. You gona bring us luck?" Hearing Kamau he eyes his brother and huffs. "Please.. You know I'm faster then you."
Sundali is quick to trot after Kamau, and relishes the feeling of excitement that suddenly courses through her system. A new adventure! With her two bestest best friends in the whole entire world! Surely, all is right once again. When they both mention /her/ being white, Sunny rolls her eyes, but grins at the both of them. "Not /me/, you losers," She chuckles. "I'm not a /mountain/ animal. They're animals that live up there all the time, and don't really ever come down here. If you find a white one, it's /magic/. And can bring you luck!" A teasing glance is paid to Onaedo. "Besides, Ona' /needs/ luck. In case he ever needs to fish another girl out of the mud.. maybe if he's lucky, he'll actually get her name!"
Onaedo blinks as he follows after them. "Oh harhar.. Funny guys." He grumbles faintly while eyeing the pair. "So who told you about this mountain animals things.. Sunny?"
Sundali tosses Onaedo a quick smile, before thinking back to where she'd first heard of these mythical, magical white mountain animals. "When I was out of Tyne, I met this older lion," She explains. "Like, /really/ old. He was talking about all sorts of things he'd seen and done in his life. One of the things he said was that he'd once ventured through these lands that were made of nothing but mountains. And there were strange creatures he met there that he'd never ever seen before. Most were small, he said.. like hares down here on the savanna. He said he'd hoped to find a white one, as he'd heard from his father that they were lucky. But he never found one." As she moves, she hitches a shoulder in a slight shrug. "I asked him if those mountain animals lived in /all/ mountains, and he said he thought so. And that he hoped I'd be able to find one, since I'm white too." Of course, what Sunny doesn't know is that the old lion was senile and speaking of things he'd dreamed of, not things that had actually happened. Oh well! It gives the three of them an adventure, right?
Onaedo ohs at this while wandering along at her side, his tail lashing slowly while a faint humm escapes him. "Sounds interesting. So.. any sorta little white critter will give us luck then?" Well, not like HE knows what is going on after all.
Also, I suck at titles. Forgive me!
