Elimnyama, King of Tyne
Tyne Rock
Resting at the mount of the cave can be found one Oneado, his head is settled against a forepaw while his bright gaze rests upon the darkness that is settling over the land just outside the cave. His tail lashes a few times as bordem is starting to get to the young lion it seems. HE needs to do something before he finds someone to push around.. Not that he would EVER do that but still, its an idea that has crossed his mind before.
Kamau has been out and about all day, chasing 'intruders' *cough*birds*cough* and really having himself a jolly good time. He's even been off marking trees, practicing those kingly things big brother Aitan taught him, and practicing being that good proper guard he's supposed to oneday be. But now he's making his way back to Tyne rock, slinking out of the forest and heading right for the cave, his large feet carrying him quietly around. Upon spotting his twin brother, however, he pauses and tilts his fluffy little head to the side to eye the other boy. "What're you doing laying around like some fat old hippo?" he asks, with maybe a touch of scorn. "You could be off saving the kingdom from stupid rogue outsiders!"
Onaedo ears twitch and his head lifts, a lazy yawn escapes him before he speaks. "Why..What's the point in that anyway?" Someone emoish it seems. He shifts up onto his haunches, forepaws splaying and claws scraping at the rocky surface. Unlike his dear brother he hasn't been hanging around Aitan as much, more Elimnyama when ever he sees him around, and when not he just wanders. "Who do you think would really listion to us /anyway/?"
"Why, everyone!" Kamau says, sounding alarmed that his dear brother would think otherwise. "Face it. We're the Kings' /brothers/. We're Lords of the WHOLE KINGDOM!" he shouts these last two words loudly, and a nearby bird squawks, flapping away angrily. Kamau eyes it with a half-crazed, giddy look as it disappears into the forest. "And we're bigger than our nieces and nephews. Bigger than stupid Kale'Kizuka. /And/ stronger, and better!" Lifting his head, he takes on a rather regal pose as he goes back to eyeing his brother. "And since we aren't any prince or anything, we can do whateeeever we want." His voice has quieted down quite a bit, so perhaps he doesn't entirely believe himself on that one. At least, he doesn't want dear ol' mum hearing him say it. "So if anyone doesn't listen to us, they are clearly a bunch of bird-brained hippos."
Bright gaze watches his brother curiously as he goes on on his little talk. A sly grin crosses Onaedo's maw at the talk about being bigger and better then Kale, which he already knew. His tail sways and he takes in a breath while lifting his head and gives his 'mane' a good shake. "Suppose you are right about that." He lets a few claws tap against the rocky surface below them while his gaze rests on the trees, after the bird perhaps. "Where did that little fluff ball get to anyway? Haven't seen him around a lot lately to bother. Or Kione for that matter." Well he is a bully, and bullies need there victms to bully around now don't they?
"Oh who even cares!" Kamau says haughtily, finally relaxing from his pose and walking towards a patch of long grasses, poking through them curiously with his nose. Even bugs and grasses are more exciting than the silly runt prince or the stupid rogue cub. His own tail flicks back and forth restlessly. "Who needs them? They're no fun anyway, and no good for wrestling or being guards with. I wouldn't trust either one to guard /me/ or /my/ family." Keeping his head down, he looks up at Onaedo playfully, lowering his upper half on his haunches a little. "So what're /we/ doing tonight? Hope you don't expect to laze around here all day. That's not proper for a Lord of Tyne."
Onaedo huffs faintly. "Suppose so.. But its so amused when we get Kale pinned." He points out while sliping up to his paws while his brother goes about nosing in the ground and starts to slowly creep towards him. The young lion pauses as his brother looks up, a sly grin offered while his tail lashes. "Oh.. well.. let's see.. we could.." An before he can finsh his sentence he leaps forward to try and get a hold on his brother before trying to push him into the grasses.
"But it's so /easy/," Kamau sighs. "We need better targets. Bigger targets. That'll give us a proper fight back!" He remains crouched while his brother leaps, not entirely surprised, but he doesn't try and get out of the way. Instead, he takes the hit and rolls off into the grasses, trying to flail out with his forepaws to grab at Onaedo and bring the golden boy with him. If they continue rolling, he'll try and get himself situated so he can pin the boy on his back. The whole way, he growls and laughs playfully. They may be growing up, but Kamau still has a bit of an overgrown cub inside him. And no, that doesn't mean he's been eating cubs.
"You two are obviously /very/ mature," The voice echoes not far from where the two teenage boys are, sounding slightly amused. "Honestly, you two..." And then, she's just there. Sundali is taller than she was when they last all saw each other, still sporting the lean, graceful build she always has. Her slightly taller-than-average (for a lioness) height comes from her legs, giving her the leonine equivilent of a ballet dancer sort of look. But she is, all in all, looking more grown up; no longer are ears or paws looking like they are too big for her body, and her face has lost most of the rounded, youthful look. Extremely pale golden eyes flicker from Kamau, to Onaedo, and then settle on the pair of them, looking amused.
Onaedo grunts as the two go rolling to the ground, he struggles and kicks about while growping out faintly all the way. Once they come to a stop for a few moments Kamau would look to be the winner until Ona shoves upwards with his hindpaws to try and send his brother flying into the grass over his head. "Take.." The boys pauses in his words as another voice echos in, ears flick forward and he blinks, golden eyes drifting about until he sees Sundali and he just watches her a few long moments from his upside down state. "Sunny.." He is finally able to get out.
Kamau just /beams/ as he manages to pin his brother, but the kicks do send him flying off the other boy. He hits the ground on his side and scrambles up, ready to tackle his littermate again when Onaedo stops and stares past Kamau. "Take Sunny?" Kamau asks, thoroughly confused. "How'm I supposed to do that when she up and left us?" But eventually he turns his head to go look at whatever it is Ona' is staring at, and spotting the white non-cub his jaw falls open and his ears droop for juuust a moment before everything is suddenly alert again and he springs over to the girl. "SUNNY!" he yells, even though she /is/ right there. Once he's bounced over, he's about to start rubbing up to her when he suddenly stops himself. Ahem. He is a /man/ now. So instead he strikes that oh-so-well-practiced regal pose - the one he thinks really brings out his /mane/. But pose or not, he can't hide his excitement at seeing the girl. "You're BACK! Where have you BEEN? Why did you go AWAY for so long? No one's hurt you or anything, have they? I will kill them if they have, don't think I won't!" Dropping his pose, he starts trying to circle the girl and nose her here and there, making sure she is whole and unscarred.
Sundali beams at the pair of them, managing to get in a, "Hey, Onaedo--!" before her vision is full of the obviously overexcited Kamau, whose antics she watches with a giggle. As he begins to circle her, Sunny swings a forepaw lightly at one of his hindquarters. "Hey to you, too, ya 'fink." She greets, her eyes sparkling joyfully at finding herself in the company of her two longtime friends once again. "And I'm fine.. /fine/, Kamau," She adds as the boy noses at her. Indeed, she /looks/ relatively unscathed, save perhaps for being a bit underfed.. but that could be said of many pride-less lions. Moving forward a few paces, Sundali seats herself before addressing the brothers again. "I was out exploring the world, a'course," She states, firm nod and a smile in place. "Had to see a bit of life on the outside for a bit, didn't I? So I went.. and now I'm back."
Onaedo rolls up to his paws and gives himself a shake as his ears flick back. His glad to see her but she left them.. For what? He should be use to others leaving them seeing how they never got to meet there father and no one has ever really told him what happened there. The young lion doesn't try to impress her with a regal pose, an infact settles down onto his haunches while his dear motor-mouth of a brother does all the talking. "An.. so you saw everything and felt like coming back?" He smirks a bit at the response given before just shrugging and glances off. "Suppose that must be nice, just to give up and wander around and then come back." He is not Mr. Happy Pants tonight that's for sure.
Kamau finishes poking and proding at Sunny, deciding she is not in pieces and, therefor, he doesn't have to kill anyone. What a shame. Also stepping forward, he goes to stand somewhere between the girl and his brother, looking between them both. "Well obviously you didn't find anyone better than us," he offers reasonably. "Otherwise, why would ya come back? And of course there /is/ no one better." He beams at his brother, somehow not the grumpy one today. And how could he be? He's with his two favoritist lions! "We'll go explorin' someday, Onaedo, just you wait and see! Right after Elim's trained me right proper." Glancing back to Sunny, he offers her a sly smile. "I'm learning to be a guard. Or a king. I haven't decided which I'll be, yet." As if the decision lies on his shoulders.
Sundali's gaze rests on Onaedo for a long moment, her smile slipping away. There's something.. something in his tone that she's not sure she likes. But she can't pin down a reason why and, given that she's back in the company of the only real friends she ever had, Sunny is willing to let it go. Her gaze slips to Kamau and to his reasonable statement, her smile returns and she nods. It's not the entire truth.. but neither is it at all a lie. She /did/ miss them both terribly. And, having seen what she has of the world, she is glad to be back and with no more desire, at the present moment, to wander again. But then, to the rest of Kamau's statement, Sundali's brows raise in slight surprise. "/You/ get to pick?" She asks. "Never heard of it bein' done that way before." Facial features relaxing into a neutral position, she now regards Kamau for a long moment, her pale tail curling and uncurling on the ground beside her. Then, her smile returns. "Choose wisely, then."
Onaedo says nothing for a few moments, his tail twitching as he just listions to his brother and Sundali, he really shouldn't be mad at her.. Not her fault he feels or is acting like this. A forepaw lifts and scratches at his neck a few times before he looks his attention go back to the two and he moves forward. "Oh you know Kamau.. He'll want to be King of the fuzzy things around here." This said with an amused tone and slight grin offered to his brother before he looks back to Sundali, watching her a moment before offering a smile. "I'm glad your back Sunny.. Hasn't been the same around here with you gone that's for sure.. Specially when I have to deal with Kamau by myself."
"Wellllll not ex/act/ly," Kamau admits, although he doesn't sound terribly upset at having his bluff called. "But the way I figure, no one's going to be my king if I don't want 'em too! So if someone stupid and un/worth/y ends up a king, I'll just go be my own king!" Looking sidelong at his brother, he swipes a paw out at the boy playfully. "Uh-huh, s'not much to deal with when you're just /napping/ all the time. Meanwhile /I/ know the kingdom like the back of my paw! And I've done some explorin' outside too," he tells Sunny. Ona' is sure to have heard all about his brief excursions for the Forgotten Lands by now. Still a fuzzy ball of energy, he pads around to circle behind his brother and come up the golden boy's other side, still glancing between his two best friends.
To Onaedo, the young white lioness smirks. "I can imagine," She says, grinning. The interplay between the two siblings is watched in silence, Sundali simply taking the moment to bask in the feeling of being back in Tyne and away from the shocking reality of life on the outside of a pride's borders. Back to Kamau, Sunny again grins. It seems like they were always wanting to explore when they were all younger! And now they all have. But.. a brief shadow passes through the lioness' eyes, there and gone quicker than one can blink. "And..?" She prompts Kamau in interest of his activites outside of Tyne. "What did you think of it?"
Onaedo rolls his eyes as he hears Kamau. "Well.. if you'd wake me up before leaving I would have went with you." He points out with a huff, while batting back at his brother. Next time there have to go exploring the forgotten lands for sure. A glance is offered to Sunny then back to Kamau as he waits for the repley.
"Meh," Kamau says, as if to say 'not much'. "It was rather dirty out there. And dry. And the other lions I've met are all rather strange." He yawns a little, lowering his upper half and extending his claws as he stretches out his forelegs, shoulders and back. "If what I've seen is any indication about the rest of everywhere? We've got it good, here in Tyne. Even if we do have to put up with annoying outsiders and nephews still." The grin that Ona' next receives is a rather cheeky one from the young lord. "Well fine, maybe next time I'll have to drag you along by the tail until you wake up! But we can't make too much noise, otherwise someone annoying will try and follow us out. Or mom'll hear."
Sundali says nothing more of exploring, giving but a simple nod to Kamau's response. Her ears perk at the mention of 'nephew' and, as if expecting to see Kale'Kizuka lounging nearby and she somehow just missed him, asks, "Where is Runt? I've been in the lands for a bit now, but haven't seen him." And, despite remembering him as the annoying little thing that seemed to want to ruin their fun when they were younger, Sunny even missed Kale a bit and seems to be looking forward to coming across him again.
Onaedo eyes his brother a moment and leans over to snap at his ear a few times. "Don't make me send you flying again." He stays with a grin before shrugging. "No idea where the runt is.. Don't care really." Great guy! "i'm sure his off doing something strange as normal."
Kamau tugs his ear away, letting both of them flop to the sides as he regards his brother. "Don't make me /pin/ you again," he counters playfully. And at Sunny's announcement that she's been in the lands for 'a bit', his ears remain splayed out. "What do you mean, you've been here awhile? And you didn't come find us?" Rather than hurt, he sounds a little angry. But perhaps being angry is how he deals with being hurt? It would certainly explain a lot. Sitting back, he sulks a little and stares off to the forest, his blue eyes hooded some by his incoming dark mane. "Beats me where he's off to. Probably getting all the attention of the adults, no doubt."
The light of the cavern's mouth is briefly obscured and the next moment Elimnyama steps inside. His dark mane is matted down almost to the skin, so the king is either very sweaty or has recently been for a swim. Spotting the group of adolescents, Elim' makes his way over and with a smirk he shakes himself out, sending water flying. "What's up, kiddies?" he inquires, reclining onto his haunches near them.
Sundali rolls her eyes at Kamau, giving a shake of her head. "Not that long, ya 'fink," She says, grinning. "I came into the lands and had to get a drink and get some of the dust off my fur. And then it took me a bit to remember which way this place was," She says, nodding to the opening of the pridal cavern. "I ain't been here a whole day or nothin'." And her tail gives an impatient flick, in a manner of: Great Kings! Do they really expect me to die of thirst running about the lands just to find them first before she allows herself a simple thing such as a drink? Pfft! Not this lioness, buddy. "Well," She says, her tone a bit short. "If you see him, tell him I'm back. It'd be nice to catch up with him, too." Glancing off to the jungle, Sunny stands quiet a moment, then turns her attention back to the brothers. "Well, I better go find one of the Queens," She says. "Find out what I gotta do to get myself set up on the hunting party, if possible." Not knowing, of course, that Tyne is currently Queen-less. But, apparently she's done with their little reunion for a moment. "I'll catch up with you guys later." And she turns, pausing briefly as Elimnyama enters, her mind racing to try and remember his name. Dangit, she KNOWS he's one of the Kings. Dipping her head in a polite nod, the name comes to her like a flash out of the blue. "King Elimnyama." And, with that, Sundali pads off, the pale white of her coat soon swallowed by the dark of the jungle.
Onaedo peers at Sunny as she talkes about telling Kale she's back.. "Why would we wana do /that/?" He questions with a huff and smirks about to say something else before hearing his older brother and glances over to him. "Ello Eli." THis said with a glance to him then another glance is offered to Sunny as she leaves which makes him frown a moment.
Kamau peers after Sunny, not cheered even after being corrected on how long she's been here. He still has that slightly angry look to him, and it's there even when Elim' comes up and shakes water droplets all over. "Hello Elim'," he offers moodily, but when he next stands up he shakes himself a bit and some of that lingering anger leaves him. "I was practicing being a guard today. I figure pretty soon, I can be a real guard!" Perhaps later than sooner, but the kid is certainly eager.
Elimnyama glances aside at Sundali and tilts his head in a nod to her, but the majority of his attention is focused on his younger brothers. "Who was that?" he inquires quietly of the two younger males once Sundali is out of earshot. A brow is lifted at the moody tone of both their voices and Elim' flares his nostrils suspiciously. "That's great, Kamau. Aitan and I've still got a few things to teach you, but you'll be ready real soon."
"That's Sundali, mine and Kamau's friend." Oneado offers while stretching and shift up onto his paws while glancing to Kam then to Eli. "What about me?" He questions out of the blue. Well if Kamau is going to do it he wants to as well of course!
Kamau nods to Onaedo's answer. Yup. Sundali. But he doesn't want to /talk/ about it, so he doesn't. "Oh, well, a few things. I can pick those up fast I bet," he tells Elim'. His chest puffs up a little when even Elim' agrees he'll be ready soon, and a little more of that anger from before leaves him. Striding forward, he stretches out his back legs and then goes to stand a little off to the side of his older brother, tail swishing back and forth with all the energy he still has after a day of romping about the kingdom.
"Okay," Elim' replies blankly, looking between the two boys. Hmm. Sundali, eh? He glances at Onaedo and his lips lift in a grin. "What /about/ you, pip-squeak?" Aiming a cuff idly at Onaedo's shoulder with a forepaw, he adds, "Well, if you're interested I know I'd be happy to teach you about guarding. Plus, I've still got to show Kamau a bit about combat in case a rogue ever comes along who means business, and he'll need a sparring partner. It's good for you guys to know this stuff so you can protect the kingdom someday."
Onaedo tilts his head not sure why Eli is all asking questions about Sundali, so they have a friend.. Anyway At the cuffing he bats back at his brother and grins. "What ever Kamau does I can do /better/ you know." This states while he puffs up his chest and he nods. "Well of course we'd protect the place.. I mean.. who else do you think /could/.. Kale?.. har.." He snorts at the thought.
Eyes his brother with some amusement. "If you mean /sleeping/... then yes, Ona' is right. He's a way better napper than me," Kamau retorts, a sly smirk forming on his mouth. It stays there after Ona's joke, and he even snickers a bit. "I'd like to see any of those other cubs try," is muttered under his breath, and he goes back to looking over at the forest. "I bet I could fight /twenty/ outsiders who tried to invade!"
Elimnyama smirks amusedly at them both. "Yes, /Kale/. And Makaio, and Amahl, and Cyrus.. Stara, Almasi, Nyala will be able to guard too, someday. I know, well.." Elim's ears flatten slightly and he shrugs one shoulder. "Well, I know they sleep a lot right now, but they're still real young.. They'll be more active when they're a little older.." It's /not/ the sleeping sickness.. Not his kids. After a moment Elim', seemingly resolving himself, regains a small smile and takes a breath. "Well, anyway. You two will be real important to Tyne's security one of these days. Aitan and I will be /old/ and /wrinkly/ and then we'll need you kids to, y'know, guard borders and chew up our food for us and tell us stories until we're too deaf to hear anymore."
Onaedo huffs some at the thought. "Kale couldn't guard his way from around a rock." His a great uncle an't he? The others well.. he isn't sure about. Cyrus seemd to have an attitude last time they bumped into one another thought. Chew there food?.. He just eyes Eli a few moments. "I an't chewing your food bro.. Not gona happen in a million years!"
"Cyrus whines too much to be a guard," Kamau chimes in helpfully. "And /girls/ guarding? /Seriously/ Elim'? They're /girls/! Plus, Almasi's a bit of a whiner too. And Stara, I don't know, but was she perhaps dropped on her head as a cub?" Yes, he's being cheeky, and he knows it. Thus, he ducks back in case Elim' tries to cuff him with one of his big paws. "Maybe Kale' can chew your food. He'll get them in nice little bites for you. But meanwhile, you haven't a thing to worry about with Ona' and I guarding the kingdom!"
"It was an accident! I didn't drop her on purpose!" Elim' wails in mock-distress, grinning toothily as he aims a snap of his jaws in Kamau's direction. "Well, let's see. I /reckon/.. if you boys want to meet me out in the savannah around midday tomorrow, we can start a little of your combat training. I'll let the others know where we'll be, in case any of them want to watch the /fun/." Smirk.
Onaedo peers at Kamau surprized that Eli didn't cuff him for that. He lifts a forepaw and baps it towards Kamau's head. "I bet mom dropped you on /your/ head fool." This said with a snicker before he looks to there older brother and grins. "Sure.. They can watch me beat Kamau like always."
