Kamau - Adol. Lion [Tyne Lord;Heir]
Summary
Cyrus finally shows his dark side in terms of threatening Kamau's life.
[Tyne] Tetesi Grasslands
It's getting into evening on a hot Tyne day, and Kamau is out in the grasslands. He was guarding nearby, but one of the others came to relieve him so he's made his way further into the lands and is now just heading towards the mountainy lands to the west, intending to get in some good ol' exploring. Maybe if he's lucky, he'll find something really impressive to go show Onaedo and Sunny! But he hasn't gotten far yet, and he keeps getting distracted by small furry animals that are extra fun to chase after. Just now he's followed a snake until it disappeared down its hole, so he's stopped nearby it to paw around and be a general nuisance to the reptile.
Since birth Cyrus has always been the outcast. He didn't associate much with his siblings, save his sister now and then, and he didn't associate with his Uncles or his Cousin. Heck, for the most part Cyrus didn't even associate with his parents. The lion was born a loner at heart and with a fleck of darkness shrowded his eyes. Spending a majority of his time along the borders, not guarding but keeping to himself, the young barbary is rarely seen in these parts of his homelands. However with recent events, the dark lion had gotten word of his fathers choice of heirs and decided to casually make an appearance. The bulky figure of the teen can be seen as he nears the wandering Kamau, the Tyne prince's face twisted into a slight scowl. Hmph.
Kamau is too busy bothering the snake to pay much attention to his whiny nephew whose approaching. Finding himself a nice-sized rock, he noses it over to the hole and lets it drop in, looking ecstatic as he's met with the sound of angry hissing. "Ha! HA!" he chirps. "That'll teach ya!" But he finally does look up again to spot Cyrus heading his way and meets the image with a smirk. "Aww heya Cyrus, what are you doing in this neck of the lands? I thought you'd ran off to be a rogue by now for certain."
Whiny wouldn't be the correct term for a male who rarely even speaks. The barbary narrows his gaze in Kamau's direction and meets his remark with a faint twist of his maw, "Can't leave you here all alone to fend for yourself now can I, midget." Ears twitch fowards and pale eyes focus on Kamau with a look of disintrest. "Just stopping by. A little bird came and told me the news of Tyne's new heirs. Fantastic." the last word is said with a slow drawl, the end dropping down with a dull click.
Kamau's ears flick back at the insult and he draws his head back a little, wrinkling his nose. "Who're /you/ to be calling me a midget?" he laughs humorlessly. The young lord is not a small lion by any means, and he's just the tiniest bit /older/ than Cyrus, there's no way he's any smaller than his nephew. Plus, while Cyrus sat around moping all the time, Kamau explored and wrestled and, well, got into trouble, but you don't grow up to be scrawny when every other moment spent with your brother involves wrestling each other rather roughly. "Yes, it /is/ fantastic news. Well, the part about me anyway, I've a feeling Kale' will start crying and quit halfway through our training, but you know Kale'. He's always crying about something."
Cyrus simply stares at Kamau before a slow chuckle excapes his maw. Older means nothing to this male, and as far as size goes, Cyrus was advancing above Kamau. His barbary bloodlines made the male not much taller but a lot more bulky in msucle mass and size. The male didn't mope around all day like most of his family members believed, and he can only chuckle at the new 'heirs' idiocey. Kamau's arrogant attitude concerning him being heir and his counterpart Kale' makes Cyrus pause. His gaze darkens and the male shakes his head. "Your going to run this pride straight into the ground Kamau. Your an arrogant idiot with the mindset of a child." The prince's ears flatten back into his mane and he scoffs faintly, "You've not the slightest idea of what it means to be a King or rule a pride. Your immature, your pathetic, and your a waste of time." Cyrus takes a few large strides closer to Kam' and lifts his lips in a smirk, "Your not as tough as you think you are Kamau."
It takes only the first of Cyrus' remarks to set Kamau on edge, and he's glaring darkly at his nephew by the second. "Oh, and I suppose you do?" he asks, his words dripping as he patronizes the boy. "Looks like your /daddy/ doesn't think I'm such a waste of time. But then, he had so many choices of who to pick for heir with such beings as /yourself/ around to never pull your own weight, or, hmm, do /anything/?" He lifts his eyebrows, equally amused with the stupidity of his nephew. He doesn't back down as the other boy moves closer either, merely lifting his head higher and tensing up even more as he shifts his feet, standing his ground.
Cyrus laughs, flat out laughs, and shakes his head, "I know more then you'll ever fathom. It is the fact that I don't care. What my /daddy/ does is his own choice and I could give a rats donkey about what that is. As far as doing anything around here, I've no need. I didn't pick to be born into this pride, thus what happens to it really does not matter to me in the least. I'm just here to be the one to tell you that your going to fail. And your going to fail miserabley." Cyrus murmurs, voice dropping. "I don't care what happens to this pride or those in it, especially you. In fact, there is one thing I'm going to do for this pride," he drawls, voice turning into a low growl, "You better watch your back twit. When you least expect it I'll be there to rip it open and watch you bleed out and do the world a favor. There's enough trash in these lands, might as well get rid of some of it."
"If you hate this pride so much, then why don't you do us all a favor and /leave/ before it turns its back on you?" Kamau asks, stepping forward so he can get right in his nephew's face. "But, yes, I'm really /quivering/ with fear for any threat of /yours/, Cyrus. You are /sooo/ intimidating," he drawls, his sarcasm clearly evident. "Remind me to cower the next time I see you." Snickering, he turns around to start walking away from the other kid, flicking his tail in Cyrus' face as he starts walking casually towards the mountains once again, head high and ears up and alert in the most arrogant posture the lord can manage.
Cyrus stands there stonely and simply smiles. "I left a long time ago Kamau." The lion lets his 'uncle' have his say and keep his comfort zone as he walks away. The dark prince sits slowly in the grasses and simply watches. "I'll remember to make you beg for mercy the next time you see me." Ears twitch and the ashin lion simply watches as Kamau walks away. Arrogant idiot. Didn't his father ever teach that fool anything? Arrogance will get you killed.. which is exactly what Cyrus is counting on. The dark barbary smiles comfortabley to himself before standing and heading elsewhere in the lands, a low chuckle escaping his barrel chest.
