[Tyne] Tyne Rock Base
The heat of the day has Onaedo moving little, his still healing after
everything that's happened. The young lion is settled within the shadows
of the rock base, head resting upon a forepaw, his ear twitching now
and then as a fly buzzes to close. If anything his got to rest a good
amount with everything that's happened, not that he really wanted to mind
you. There is Sunny our there somewhere and then crazy Cyrus to deal
with on the lands. He half expects to find Cyrus springing out from the
grasses when ever he is on his own, and while he isn't scared of his
nephew it still bothers him.
She'd been inside most of the time with Waset since her son had
stumbled across her, and the elder lioness had continued to stick mostly to
herself. It was strange being back at the cavern, a place she'd avoided
when so many memories plauged and haunted her. The retired queen slinks
slowly from the mouth of the pridal cavern, stretching her legs as she
does so. Honey-green eyes roam the surroundings before coming to settle
slowly on her other son. She'd been looking for him, and.. my my... If
she thought Kamau was beat up. Tisea moves her paws to walk in his
direction, a faint soft smile falling over her maw. "You and that sibling
of yours, can't stay out of trouble can you..." she gives Onaedo a
motherly smile, closing the distance between the two so he doesn't have to
stand and giving her son a gently nuzzle on his cheek. They've all
grown up so fast.
Onaedo ears flick forward at the movement, the breeze going the other
direction so he has picked up just who it is yet. His eyes open and the
lion blinks as he spots his mother, someone whom he hasn't seen in a
rather long time. A faint chuckle escapes him at the comment. "If I
stayed out of trouble I'd be so boring." He says while pushing himself up
slowly to nuzzle back at her neck. His sore and achey, patched of fur
slowly growing back in where wounds and scabs are still seen, he'll be
scared up for sure but he'll be alive. "Its good to see you mother.." Its
been so long since they last talked, his almost unsure what to say.
A rough purr sounds from the lioness' throat as she settles down beside
her son. "As it is good to see you child," she murmurs. Eyes drift out
to the horizon and the female sighs softly. She wanted to apologize to
all her children for dissapereing, especially Onaedo, Kamau and all
the younger ones. They were juvenilles when Tisea's feet drug her
elsewhere. She figured however that most of them understood her need to be
away from... all the memories. The loss of Fuadi still plauged her heart
heavily and Tisea knew she'd never be rid of it. The lioness rotates her
head towards Onaedo and looks him over with a motherly arched brow.
"Don't tell me you plan on scampering away to rescue that girl 's well...
you look worse then your brother."
Onaedo ahs softly at the comment about Sunny, his maw twitches and he
glances off. "She's my friend.." He offers softly. "Anyway.. Kamau has
feelings for her even if he won't admit it." He isn't stupid, he knows
the two like each other even if no one says anything, he has /eyes/
after all. Though even knowing something like this he still had feelings
for Sunny, not that it mattered because he would keep that to himself. At
the comment about him looking worse he stiffens slightly. "I.. met up
with Cyrus a few days ago. His crazy mother, he wants to kill me and
Kamau.." No point in beating around the bush about it now.
The lioness nods her head slowly, "So I heard.." she comments about her
being his friend. Kamau said the same thing. The lioness understood
her sons reasoning, but you can't blame a mother for not wanting her baby
boys to go running off to save a lioness in distress. Tisea sighs and
gives him a soft smile before it fades almost instantly in a flicker at
the mention of Cyrus and what he plans on doing. The retired lioness
shifts her weight woodenly and fights for something to say. "Have to
spoken to Elimnyama about him?" Tis' had avoided the dark prince, but
she'd seen him lurking around the lands.
Onaedo shakes his head a moment while glancing to the ground. "I
haven't seen Elim since me and Kamau came back that night." His been half way
hidding from his older brother actually. "I found out about Waset, I
wanted to give him some time to be with her and not think about Cyrus.
I'm just worried that he might hurt someone else in the mean while." He
pauses a moment before going on. "I won't let him hurt anyone else
though, someone's going to have to deal with him at some point. I just hope
Elim will be up to it when the time comes." If not..he'll do it if he
has to.
The aging lioness nods her head slowly before giving her son a serious
look, "Whatever you do Onaedo, you be careful.. Cyrus isn't just some
lion with a slight temper problem and his head up his butt anymore...
he's gotten a taste for blood and if I'm right he's past any reason or
sense." Tis' rummbles, "Lions like that teeter between the brink of
sanity and slipping into the murkey waters of insanity.. there's no telling
what he'll do. You could maul him up good and it will only drive him on
more and give him a boost of that something he needs." Tisea recalls
the lions she's heard of in the past, those who let the darkness in them
win and those who fell to their claws.
Onaedo nods slowly. "I know.. That's how he was fighting the other
day." He looks to his mother a few moments. "But if Elim won't deal with
him someone has to.. I won't let him tear his pride apart." Even if that
means him not making it at the end, its for the pride right? "I don't
understand what happened to him.. Elim and Waset's other kids didn't
turn out like that."
Tisea shakes her head, "There's no telling Onaedo.. they could be
perfectly fine and then one little thing could snap in their head and send
them down that path. It could be something building up inside them until
it finally explodes in what he's become today. He probably doesn't
even know what it is that causes him to act that way and chance are, no
one will know even if he does figure it out." The elder lioness shifts
again before looking to her son, "Just do me a favor.. if you end up
deciding your the one to go after him.. don't go by yourself."
Onaedo ears perk as he listions to his mother talk about what could be
wrong with Cyrus, which could be anything.. Great that makes it SO much
easier you know. He nods slowly. "I won't go on my own mom.. promise."
Well he doesn't plan on going on his own, but he wouldn't risk bring
Kamau with him either seeing how his going to be one of the next kings,
can't have him getting killed after all. "I'm still going to speak with
Elim about it though."
"Good. He needs to know, after all.. it is his own son.." Tisea lets
her gaze wonder and she sighs faintly. She stretches her front legs and
toes idly to rid them of their aching and hrms gently before eyeing
Onaedo. "So Kamau has a crush on a girl... what about you?" HEY! She's his
/mother/ she needs to /know/ these things! XD Tis' gives him a crooked
smile and laughs faintly, rimmed ears twitching forwards.
Onaedo nods and glances off once more, many thoughts on his mind now
about everything that's been going on. He blinks at the question and errs
faintly. "Mom.." The lion states while smirking. "I don't have a crush
on anyone.." Which is such a LIE but anyway..
She eyeballs him and scoffs, "I don't believe you." She laughs and
turns her gaze elsewhere before rolling a shoulder. "I'm just saying, your
not a little boy anymore. Someones gotta be popping me out more
grandbabies. After all, one of them's already turned rotten. I'm a
grandmother! I need more grandbabies." she lifts a paw and ruffles the lions mane
gently before laughing. With all the sadness and chaos going on around
her, Tisea had learned to laugh even in the face of it.
Onaedo makes a face at the thought. "Me be a father?" There's a
thought! "I don't think any lioness would trust me with something like
/that/." He states with a chuckle before oofing at the mane ruffling. Smirking
he lifts a forepaw and smooths out his mane once more. "I'm sure Kamau
will give you plenty..being king an all.." Its not that he isn't
thrilled that his brother got the title but he just feels like they will
drift apart with him being all kingly.
Tisea shakes her head and murmurs, "Maybe," the retired queen falls
quiet for a few moments before sliding down upon her belly and settling
her head upon her paws. Hmmmmm. She's sleepy, she's used to relaxing and
sleeping the days away. Being back in the thick of the pride is taking
its toll on her. She mutters something to herself about being /old/ and
flops to her side at her sons feet, tail wapping the ground
rythmatically. She lets her gaze roam across the surrounding area before finally
flickering back to her son.
Onaedo ears twitch while watching his mother, he leans down and noses
at her cheek. "Your going to stay around now.. Arn't you mom?" He
questions curiously, and with an almost child like tone. Well he loves his
mother, and doesn't want anything to happen her.
Honey-green eyes rotate up to Onaedo and the lioness smiles softly,
"Yes... I plan on staying around." Her babies need her. Her alone time is
over, her family is more important to her. The retired queen chuckles
softly and eyes him, "That means even though yall are grown you won't be
getting away with trivial childlike behavior," she rummbles. Ti'
throws her son a wink and rocks her head back on his paws, ears rotating
back comfortabley.
Onaedo grins slightly. "Good luck getting that through to Kamau." He
states with a chuckle. "I'm glad your going to stay mother.." They really
do need her around here, specially with everything that has been going
on lately.
Tisea rummbles a laughter and shakes her head, "I'd cuff that boy good.
He's not to big to get a good thumping from me," Tisea chuckles. "I'm
sure you'll be fine.. but yes I'll be around to keep tabs and make sure
everything goes smoothly. Give Kamau some tips in ruling.." she drawls
off, eyes lidding lazily closed before opening and giving her tail
another twitch.
Onaedo chuckles at the thought of Kamau getting a thumping, hey there
brothers they can think this stuff about one another! "His not that bad
I suppose.. Just stubborn as a zebra." He ponders some. "I'm curious
though.. I never found out the reason why Elim picked Kamau.. Was there a
reason?" The lion questions while peering down at his mother.
The lounging lioness shrugs a shoulder casually, "You'd have to ask
your brother about that. I haven't spoken to him about why he picked who
he did to become King." Tisea snuggles against the ground to get
comfortable before hrming softly, "I'm slightly curious myself, but curiosity
can wait," she rummbles.
Zuri has been down near one of the watering spots, just getting away
for a little. Even though she's been here for a bit of time now, being
around so many other lions still takes getting used to. And with no word
of her sister, the young lioness is restless. Having been gone a while
she finally makes her way back to the rock base, climbing up slowly and
quietly so that she doesn't disturb anyone.
"Suppose so." Onaedo offers as he shifts to settled down on the ground,
doing his best not to move his forepaws in the process as Tisea just
had to use them as a pillow. A faint grunt escapes him at the movement,
eyes closing slightly before a sigh escapes him. "Suppose it doesn't
really matter in the end anyway." His ears perk forward as he once more
catches the sound of movement, eyes open and he peers out towards the
sound until catching sight of Zuri. A friendly smile is offered along
with a nod of his head. "Afternoon Zuri."
Tisea grunts softly before his greeting to another, unfamiliar, lioness
catches the lioness' attention and Tis' lifts her head slightly
honey-green eyes cracking open. "Afternoon child," murmurs the aging lioness
as Tisea beams a gentle smile and slowly settles her head back down
comfortabley upon her son's paws. Yay fuzzy pillow!
Zuri stops when she hears her name, turning slowly toward the source.
When she sees Onaedo a small smile appears. "Good afternoon," she
greets. The young lioness still falls somewhere between shy, curious and
unsure when it comes to dealing with other lions. She takes a few steps
toward the pair. "You didn't leave yet. I mean, weren't you going
somewhere? Are you not now?" she asks, her eyes on Onaedo. She watches him the
same way she usually does, her green eyes wide and her gaze steady.
When she looks to Tisea though she lowers her head in greeting, offering a
shy smile.
"Well..not yet. I couldn't leave because of that fight with Cyrus."
Onaedo offers, and seeing how Zuri saw the fight, well the end of it she
should have an idea about it. "Kamau and I still plan on leaving soon
though."
Tisea grunts audibly at the talk of Onaedo leaving. Mothers right. The
lioness opens her gaze to fix them on Zuri curiously, "Zuri, correct?
Where do you come from child?" she questions slowly, nose twitching at
the end of her graying maw. She'd never seen the new lioness about
before so Tisea was curious. Honey-green eyes watch the young girl casually,
a soft smile settling upon her features.
"Oh!" Zuri exclaims in a 'doh' sort of manner. How could she have
forgotten. She shuffles forward a few steps. "Are you better then?" she
asks, looking Onaedo over carefully to see how his wounds are faring. "He
hasn't tried to attack you again, has he?" There is a touch of concern
in her voice as she ask this. Her eyes linger on the lion for a moment
longer before looking at his mother. She nods. "Yes, Zuri. I was born in
Kimondo. I grew up as a rouge," she explains briefly, not liking to
talk too much about her past. The older lioness' smile though has her
returning it with an unsteady smile of her own.
Onaedo hehs faintly as his mother voices her thoughts on Kamau and he
leaving. "Mother this is Zuri, Zuri this is my mother Tisea." Well he
can't have them wondering who each other is now can he? His ears perk at
the talk of Kimondo, something his heard spoken about from Dhoruba
before. "I'm getting better, and no he hasn't bothered me since that day."
Tisea hmms faintly at the mention of Kimondo. She remembers that pride,
she visited there once when she was young. Tisea nods her head and
smiles however, "Pleasure to meet you then Zuri and welcome to Tyne."
Tisea settles her head back down and grunts to her son, "I'm takin a nap,"
which means I'm using your paws, wake me up if you plan on moving. >D
Tisea smiles with her eyes closed, tail twitching as she lets a
rythmatic purr send her to sleep.
The young lioness nods at Onaedo. "That's good." Then she glances in
between the two. "It's nice to meet you. And thank you. It's nice here,"
Zuri tells Tisea. She stands there rather awkwardly for a moment as
Tisea declares she is taking a nap and proceeds to drift off to sleep. She
glances at Onaedo. "Should I go?" she whispers.
Onaedo smiles some to Zuri before blinking at his mother whom he eyes
faintly, nope she hasn't changed at ALL. At the whisper a shake of his
head is offered. "No.. You can stay. She'll sleep through just about
anything." The lion says with a playful tone. "Have you found anything on
your sister?"
Zuri nods a little, slinking a few steps closer before settling down on
her haunches. She lifts her paw, licking it before rubbing it over her
ear. Being so fluffy is a bother sometimes. "No, nothing yet," she
tells him with a sigh, laying all the way down. She crosses one paw over
the other and rests her head on them, though her eyes stay on the lion.
She still seems to have no problem looking right at him and just
watching each of his movements or while he talks.
Onaedo ohs softly at this, a faint frown seen for a few moments. "If
you like.. I could try and help you find her. Before me and Kamau leave
and when we come back from getting Sunny." Even if Sunny might not be
alive he refuses to think of it any other way. "Where was the last time
you saw her?"
Zuri lifts her head a little. "Really?" she asks, trying not to look
too hopeful. She doesn't want to think about the thought of Sakina being
dead either. She lowers her head back onto her paws and goes back to
watching Onaedo. "The day before I came here. At one of the water holes.
That's where the buffalo attacked us. I told her to run so she didn't
get hurt, but it took me a while to get away and she was gone. I
couldn't find her."
Onaedo offers a slight smile and nods. "Of course.. I wouldn't have
offerd it if I didn't mean it." His ears perk slightly. "One of the water
holes near Tyne?" He questions curiously, thinking of where it might
be.
Zuri looks away a moment, smiling a bit more into her paws. "Thank
you." She swishes her tail a little, nuzzling her maw against her own paws
for the moment. "Further away. Between here and another Pride," Zuri
tells him. "It was outside of Tyne though." It's as she says this that
she shifts so she can look at him again. "Are you getting used to
lionesses?"
Onaedo humms softly, could very well be the forgotten lands then.
"Alright.. We can go looking when ever you like." Not like his doing a lot
here, not until he and Kamau leave that is. He blinks and ums at the
questions before a soft heh escapes him. "Well.. I suppose so." This said
softly, not like he actually expected that question to be brought up.
He watches Zuri curiously a few moments. "What about you with lions?"
Zuri's nose twitches a little. "Sort of, I suppose," she answers
quietly. "A little at least. But not all the way." The lioness watches him
just as curiously in return. "My sister was better with other animals.
She's sometimes skiddish, but she's very sweet and friendly."
Onaedo smiles a moment and nods. "Kamau is more talktive to others then
I am.. Must be a sibling thing." This said with a joking tone. "I'm
sure your sister is out there, I don't see why we can't find her." He
can't under how it must feel to have a lost sibling, specially with how
close he and Kamau are.
"He is?" A crinkle appears above her eyes, causing her fluff to ruffle
a little. "He didn't talk to me much. You talked to me a lot more,"
Zuri tells him. She smiles a little though. "I hope so. Maybe she found a
Pride too. Just as long as she isn't alone." She knows her sister would
not be able to survive alone.
"Kamau does that sometimes.. But he normally is the talktive one
between us." Onaedo offers, though he guesses after everything that happened
Kamau might not be to talktive for a while. "I'm sure if she's as smart
as you say she's found herself a place with another pride."
"Oh." Zuri just nods a little. "Maybe when I see him next time he'll
talk more." Not that Zuri was terribly talkative the first day she
arrived, she was rather wary of all the new lions and lionesses. When Onaedo
says she is smart her ears perk a little before settling right back to
where they were before. Thankfully lionesses can't blush, she does duck
her head a little. "She's smart," is all she says in response though,
not knowing how else to handle the comment.
"If not tell him I'll cuff him for not talking." Onaedo offers with a
smile before nodding. His head soon settles down on the ground before a
yawn escapes him. "If you want, after I get a nap we can go start
looking around for you sister some."
A small laugh escapes her at his offer, but then she moves onto the
more serious matter of her sister. "I'd like that, thank you," Zuri says
with a nod. "Maybe I'll take a nap too," she muses, watchig Onaedo. His
yawn is contagious apparently because a moment later she's yawning as
well.
Yawns are always contagious! "Your welcome Zuri, I just hope that I can
can help." Onaedo offers before his eyes close, it doesn't take long
for the lion to fall asleep though and within moment he is sleeping.
