Has anyone ever played the computer game "Lion"? Made by Sanctuary Woods? It's an old game (can't think of the year it was made.. but we had trouble getting it to run back when we had Windows 95 XD). Anyway. For those who have never played, you basically control a lion and go about doing.. lion.. things. Hunting, mating, surviving. It's been a favorite game of mine for a very long time. I really wish they would make a more modern version (of Lion and the first game, Wolf). It would be so cool. ;_; Anyway. Just wondering if anyone else had ever played or heard of it (or of its older counterpart, Wolf.. which is also interesting). Also, here's a link to a downloadable version of the game. Not sure how well it'll run on modern day machines.. but you never know. www.the-underdogs.info/game.php?name=Lion

Really? My Lion works perfectly fine on my computer and I have XP. Dunno if it makes any difference that I have the CD or not, but. :x I can't figure out how to install Wolf using DosBox or anything. How did you get yours to work? The last time I played it, I had to put it all on different floppy discs and install it from them. But, of course, my new comp doesn't even have a floppy drive. XD

Never heard of it... but the earliest games I remember playing on DOS were: Moptown, Robot Odyssey, Treasure Mountain, and all the old Infocom Games, particularly Zork and Wishbringer.

Oh snap, those games are old.
I remember playing Haunted Mansion, the Indiana Jones games, Museum Madness, and tons of other crap on MSDOS. Crazy.

I've a copy of 'Lion' on a CD somewhere.. and I downloaded Wolf from UnderDogs (which is an Uber-cool site, by the way--http://www.the-underdogs.info/) a long time ago, though I didn't like it as much. <.<
Both ran (and still would, I imagine..) fine on my poor ole' '98-running dinosaur, except that I couldn't get sound in 'Wolf'.
Good games, definately. Long live abandonware. :>

Yeah, I was two when I learned how to use DOS. Go me and my 5" Moptown disk. Ah, good ol'days..
It's funny, too, the timing of this topic. I just reinstalled Black and White on my computer.. but for some reason B&W2 isn't working *twitch*
Egads, I just had another .. gee, what're they called, a headache with dreams.. an idea! Oh, right. Anyway, I also remember playing the King's Quest games. Now those were some ye'ol' high tech grahpics. Yarr.

It's a fun game. Dated.. but fun.
One game I played.. I started out with the weather Unusually Rainy and prey Abundant. And over the course of the game (I had it set on Infinity.. so I was probably 4 years in or so).. it became Unusually Dry with prey really, really scarce. The pride all died out.. and because there was no food.. as they died.. I had to have them eat each other. XDDD That was also the game I became frustrated with the game itself.. because I had, like, 2 or 3 litters of cubs in that time. And you can't play them or select them or know their genders/names until they grow up. And because, each litter, the game wouldn't start at the name list where it had last left off.. it always started back at the beginning.. so I had 2 or 3 lionesses in the pride named Kauleni or whatever. XD I remember being upset when I very first played it.. because I thought you could name the lions yourself.. and play the cubs.. but you can't. I was bummed. XD I wish they'd make a newer version where you could do that.. and make your own lion to start off with.
</ramble> XD;
