Hello all, I was just thinking, but I think it might be something to considering, what about reviving "SunRise" as a mature muck, a realistic game with lions and other african animals, if anyone remembers Cry of the Kalahari, I was thinking along those lines, sort of.

Hi Nko'! I loved Cry of the Kalahari - what the devil ever happened to that place? I think the best idea at this point, however, would be for some entrepreneurial-minded young thing (i.e., not me!) to take your concept and build a new MUCK that can stand on its own with no firm ties back to the old Sunrise. Speaking for myself, I'm very content to leave Sunrise in its grave forever (it served most of us well over many years and further attempts to "revive" it will only serve to strip away the nostalgia a lot of us still have), but I'm not at all opposed to African-themed roleplay! I actually miss it a lot. Does anyone know of any currently active African- or TLK-themed games out there in cyberspace? They would be a good place to direct new people who happen to stumble across these old forums (which, I confess, are still up mostly because they contain a lot of fun and nostaglic threads from back in the good ol' days and because it's a way for some of us ancient folks to keep in contact (sort of) with each other). Summary: I don't think Sunrise itself should be revived, but African-RP FTW!!

I loved Cry of the Kalahari - what the devil ever happened to that place? The programmer got a little power-trippy, and to make a long story short, basically shut down the game against the headwizard's wishes. :\ Anyway, I'd personally like to see an active, quality lion (and/or hyena)-based board created instead of yet another African-based MUCK (especially considering the last attempted incarnation)...if anyone remembers Mnara, something like that. [Unzumi actually tried to recreate something along those lines ( link), but it slipped into a prolonged inactive spell.] So yeah. If an interesting wildlife forum RPG starts up, I'd be interested to know. :3 Edit: Of course, for those of you who do prefer MUCK settings, there are still places for such. Hidden Nirvana is the newest, with an Indian wildlife theme, but there's also both TLK and Meadows that are somewhat active, and technically Pridelands Chronicles is still around as well.
