OOC: Since we were all being nostalgic, I figured I'd do something a little off the wall. Pick a favorite character (hard to do, I know, but try) and bring them here; to the spirit realm. See what happens.
It's been many seasons since she left the mortal coil; she's had to watch her only true son grow and struggle through life and she was unable to help him. Somewhere in the foggy recesses of her memory the lioness can recall meeting her son in the physical realm -- but it was so brief, so fleeting in comparison to the eternity she now lives in that she cannot remember it.
There isn't much to this realm. It's not like the savanna of the living, but more like a constant, thin mist, swirling and eddying like the waves; perhaps it is just what she sees... being punished in the everafter for her life of blood and flesh. But this endless purgatory isn't all bad for Unzumi, in fact, she looks quite young and fit. Her fur has returned to its illustrious gold, her muscles as strong as they were in life; the only difference is the dullness in her eyes.. the quiet, the lack of bloodlust. Her mind might be hazy from dying, but it seems to no longer be clouded by her insatiable hunger for blood.
The Barbary lioness had been walking endlessly, and it is now that she stops within the clouded nothingness and settles herself on her hindquarters. Her faded eyes squint into the mist and a sigh escapes her. It is lonely in the everafter; what little she had of a family is either dead like her or still treading the earth. What.. regret? No.. there can be no such thing here, not for her anyway.

OOC: OK, y'all know that Annie will be showing up eventually. But I wanna start with a lesser-played character first. Since I've been thinking of her lately and all.
Ah, the afterlife. Full of.. well, pretty much nothing but this darn mist. Perhaps, like Unzumi, this lioness is being punished with it as well; punished for pairing with Seth to give him offspring. And while Suki would be the first to admit that Seth children probably are indeed a curse on the world.. they are /her/ children as well, and she happens to think they turned out quite well. Every once in a while she checks in on Ausikifa - always unnoticed, of course - just to make sure he's eating well and not doing anything too incredibly stupid that would reflect poorly on her. Can't have that, after all.
At the moment, the lioness pads slowly onwards. Her light coat is in perfect condition, her black eyes as dull and lifeless as they were when she was alive (though, now being one of the dead, such a feature is now much more fitting). Her features are drawn into an expression of boredom; Suki has been at the whole dead thing for a while now, the aimless wandering through the mist. Her only sense of enjoyment comes from checking in on her relations. Still, wandering aimlessly around in a world of apparent nothing is better than, say, being tortured for all the rest of eternity. Better, indeed.
The lioness comes to a halt as a sigh echoes in the stillness. Squinting, Suki can just make out the form of another not too far ahead. One dark brow raises ever so slightly. Well, now.. this is a new development. Suki has never come across another in this afterlife world before. Not even the fabled Great Kings. Curiosity piqued, Suki slinks a few steps closer, dark eyes focusing on Unzumi through the swirling mist.

OOC: Aww, Ausi' never really got to RP with his mum. She should come back as a ghost and give 'him what for!
Unlike the mortal realm, this place doesn't have any distractions safe the constant mist. After a while, you might even get used to it. As her sigh carries, so too does Suki's presence alert itself through the nothingness. Unzumi's ears roll forward, her brow knitting in a slow dawning kind of confusion; is there someone there? Whatever it is, it's giving her a strange itching between her shoulders. To alleviate it, the lioness stands and turns to face the feeling and is royally surprised to see another figure slinking in the mist. Her brows knit curiously and for a while Unzumi isn't really sure what to do. Were she alive, she'd attack and kill without hesitation... but that wouldn't really work too well at this juncture, would it?
"I've never seen you before," the lioness eventually intones, her voice nearly as flat as her eyes, "alive or dead."

OOC: Yes. Suki will have to visit her little boy sometime. <3
Suki stares back evenly, ebon-tufted tail giving a faint flick behind her. "Nor I yous," Is her reply, tone nearly matching Unzumi's, flavored only by her soft accent. "But.. I 'ave been seeing no ones else up 'ere after I am being deads, either. I was t'inking I was being alones." Obviously she is not. Although Suki has to wonder why she would be running into some strange lioness and not, say, that stupid mate of hers. Or her dead children, even.
Suki paces forward evenly, dark eyes giving Unzumi the once-over. Had she still been alive, she might have been more cautious about being around strangers. But she's dead and can't exactly die all over again.. and the company is a change of pace from all the dull mist. "I am being Suki," She offers up finally, stopping opposite Unzumi. "And who are yous being?"

The Barbary lioness doesn't bother doing her, ah, normal routine, which would involve ripping Suki's sorry face off. In fact, it's really not the first thought that crosses her mind and that in itself is what surprises Unzumi the most. What she does to is curl her ears forward to catch the strange little quirk in the other's voice; now she knows she's never met this one before. She would remember that. "I thought I was alone as well," comes the golden one's eventual reply, her eyes narrowing slightly as she watches the other approach. For a while she's unsure whether or not to greet this.. Suki.. or not, but considering she's never seen a break in this strange mist she might as well make the best of being dead and all. It's not like anything more drastic could happen than dying.
"Unzumi" she churrs deeply, curling and uncurling the very tip of her tail; a characteristic tick that she never got rid of.

OOC: Sorry, Unz! My brain works slower where creativity is concerned when the busy holiday stuffs come up. So my posts may be slow in coming for the next week or two.
Having come to a half opposite Unzumi at long last, Suki's haunches fold slowly beneath her. The other lioness is studied for a long moment, otherworldly mist curling gently around her form, disturbed only for a moment by a flick of her tail. Her mouth parts slightly, she quietly repeating the name the other lioness provides. Unzumi. Hm.
"Odd," She murmurs after a moment, dark eyes never leaving Unzumi. "To not come across someones I am knowing.. but a strangers instead." Odd indeed. Although this death world seems to play by its own rules anyway. Suki would have thought that her afterlife would either be filled with the dearly departed she knew - mate, daughter Exor, siblings or parents or those of that sort - or completely empty all together. And yet here she is, face to face with someone that she doesn't know and never heard of.
The whole thing leaves Suki feeling slightly unsure how to react. Were she still living, she would be defensive.. or aggressive. But here in a world where she can't die again, such a reaction seems pointless. Also pointless would be acting friendly and happy which, aside from being rather out of character for her (even dead) seems an odd way to greet a stranger.
So, for the moment trying to comprehend the situation, Suki remains seated where she is, gazing back at the other lioness. Blink.

OOC: It's okay. It's the same with me right now, too.
Silence is greeted with silence as Unzumi studies the stranger before her. The barest of nods is given as Suki mentions the oddities of the mist-laden place where it seems that weird chance has brought two completely different lionesses together. Hmm. As she watches and listens, the Barbary lioness eventually begins to piece something together that's been nagging at the back of her brain. Her ear tips twitch as she opens her maw the slightest crack to speak, but something holds back her tongue. Vague and distant memories of a lion and his children are dredged up from the recesses of her once blood haze clouded brain and it takes her a while to piece together the information.
"Hmm," is what comes out first and as Unzumi gently lowers herself to her haunches and curls her tail around her foot paws, her sentence begins to form, "You remind me of someone." Pause. "I know I've never seen you -- I would remember if I had -- but I met a male and his cubs once, and they looked very like you." Her anger-less eyes narrow slightly, taking in Suki's features and placing them next to her ancient memories. "Seth, Xipil, Ausikifa." Those are the names that come to her, and the lioness simply settles herself and waits to see if what she remembers is really the truth.

A lioness floated along in this odd world everything so familiar yet strange. She hit what seemed ground and walked this eternal punishment she had gotten not long ago. She had been going in what seemed circles for hours. A lioness skull was fitted over her head, as it was blood stained. Her coated was a crimon red as of her victums she killed, she has no regrets, those killed shouldn't have picked th fight. The holes where her ears were, were deep red flames as the end of her tail was. Her ankles were enclosed by bones, as her long tail were armored with spinal bones of what seemed zebra. Her eyes were an evil deep set green, as her pupils white as snow, her black rigid winds lay folded on her back. She walked along lonely, she now knew her role, she was gate keep, and guardian, her role was important. Yet she didn't know that it was a punishment, she had been walking for what seemed hours, though it was really years.
