Although Siangamika's words prove to be agreeable, there is little in the lion's voice or demenor that Ausikifa is willing to trust. When his eyes return to the Barbary he catches the subtle shift from his normal drawl to the slightly mocking tone, and Ausikifa's ears flick once, his lips twitching. He doesn't get a chance to respond though, for Siangamika doesn't even get a chance to finish, before the distraction that caused him to eye the grass comes out into the open...
Slowly, almost imperceptibly, the lion's head drops and turns to his side at the voice in the dark, and when his eyes get a hold of his sister, they widen. Ausikifa looks down his muzzle at the lioness he hasn't seen since cubhood, his pupils contracted to show the whites of his eyes, giving him a horribly schizophrenic look. To add to that, his muzzle opens as if to speak, but all that begins to rise from him is a deep, warning growl. His lips begin to quiver, and he pushes himself to his paws and begins to slink closer to Xipil, breaking his connection with Sekhmet and giving Siangamika and Weupe a wide berth.
As he closes the distance between him and his sister, Ausikifa begins to circle the lioness with an obvious look of distaste hovering on his muzzle, and something more frightening glistening behind his eyes. The growl only stops when the lion issues a derisive snort, coming up along side Xipil and staring down at her before he makes his way back to Sekhmet. Ausikifa lazily plunks his haunches down into the grass, a forepaw lifting to scratch idly at his chest before a low chuckle slips from him. His crystal eyes flick briefly to his lioness, to Siangamika and Weupe, and finally lay themselves back on his sister.
"Well," he churrs deeply, chuckling... nay, giggling, still, flashing his fangs, "well... well..." In his eyes, directed only to his sister, there lies the disgusting hope that he thought she had died in the flood, but now finds her cowardly hide in this forsaken land of the idle Kivuli. Of course, to Siagamika's comment he only issues a tilt of an ear; how little the Barbary knows about Seth's family. Xipil is no ally, in fact, he might have to deal with her if she threatens to leak any of this to the Kivuli.
"Little sister," he seeths, leaving it hanging and waiting for her to explain herself.
