That googly-eyed shark is the slip-n-slide! I got it.... somewhere. MATY, of course, I just forget which store set/when it was released that I ganked it from (edit: I should say, slip-n-slides came with Generations, but I have it because they released one in one of the store sets, too. My copy of Generations hasn't shipped yet gah). You will see more of the slip-n-slide in my next update, which I am almost done with because I could not help myself. And I spent way too much time sitting here last night as I played going WTF GUYS, WTF. Curse you, slip-n-slide!
Edit: Told you I was almost done! OK, lots of pictures, but.. you WERE warned of image heavy-ness in the thread title so there.
Colby and Corbin brought home a random kid from school who is TOTALLY STEALING COLBY'S STYLE.
After homework, Colby and Bobbi play on the slip-n-slide. Yeah, I dunno WTF she is doing.
She finally accepts his kiss. About time!
And then... this kid (that style stealing kid they brought home from school). This is about 9pm.
Midnight.
1am.
3:30am.
4am. Sir, it is a SCHOOL NIGHT/MORNING.
4:10am. He seems to realize, OH HAY THE LIGHTS ARE BACK ON IN THAT ROOM (Bonnie was waking up) I SHOULD GO. And off he went, leaving his cake on the floor. He is not getting invited back.
Colt skips school (Bonnie and Abraham are pretty lax parents, I guess?) to invent! In his PJs!
While Abraham and Bonnie head off to the hospital for ~baby time~!
Long after they had left, this old lady was still standing on the corner freaking out about having seen a woman in labor.
And it's... another freaking boy! This one is Cade (traits: Exciteable, Loner). And all four boys look very different from each other, so that is nifty. One weird thing! As soon as Cade was born, I got a memory pop-up. For Cade. That said something to the effect of, "Cade became thinner! He won't forget the change in his appearence in the mirror!" A.. baby? Got thinner? Just from being born? WTF, game.
Later that day, after everyone was home from the hospital and school, Colt was back out at the inventing table (he was inventing toys for Cade!), hebegan to regret eating that second helping of chilli caused an explosion and caught on fire. Always use safety gear when using welding equipment in your PJs!
Now, I knew that he wouldn't run and hop in the shower all on his own. And I knew his brothers - playing in the yard nearby - wouldn't extinguish him on their own, either. So I figured, oh hay! I'll take a picture or three of him on fire, then a picture or three of them rushing over to freak out about the fire (you know how sims are about fire), then I'll direct one of them to put out the fire, it'll make a great story!
... Guys?
"WOO! SLIP-N-SLIDE!" "SLIP-N-SLIIIIIIDE! WOOHOO!"
Guys?
GUYS?!
.... D: D: D: D: D:
OH, NOW YOU STOP?!
Yeah, this guy ain't here to f**k around.
He didn't want to die.
I... what? I honestly have no idea what emotion you are trying to express.
That's a better reaction, yes.
NOW you two are sad. WTF were you thinking, playing on the slip-n-slide while your brother screamed as he burned to death just FEET AWAY FROM YOU!
Colt. ;__;
NOW it hits you! Where the hell were the two of you, anyways?! Honestly, I totally banked on sims using their psychic powers to flock to the fire (and then the death! Colt had a great relationship with everyone in the family!), the same way they always do for fires and deaths and birthdays. But... not a single one of them dropped any of their actions (Abraham was writing, Bonnie was taking care of the baby and watching tv, the boys were PLAYING IN THE YARD) to react to the fire or death on the lot. I am still a bit floored by it, since they usually flock en masse to those sorts of things!
I tried to get a screenshot but apparently all I get is a black screen. But if I hold the mouse over the ashes, a little pop-up box identifies them as Colt Legacy (even though he has a tombstone, too). So I couldn't get rid of them. I picked a pretty fence and roped the area off.
In there are his ashes, memorial flowers, the stuff he invented (I might take one of the toys out for Cade to play with when he ages up) and the football.
And this is up at the cemetery, where I move the gravestones so I don't have to deal with the ghosts in the house. To the left are Lincoln and Aurora's gravestones (Aurora's is the big one). The yellow and purple flowers mark out where the Gen 2 gravestones (Bonnie and Abraham) will go when they die. The sunflowers next to that mark out where the Gen 3 gravestones (most likely Colby and Bobbi) will go when THEY die. I typically only have the stones for the heir(ess) and their spouse (since I kick out any extra siblings after the heir gets married), but since Colt died as a teen and I had his stone, I put it in there too, which you can see behind where the Gen 3 stones will go. Poor Colt.
Speaking of... I always add an epitaph to the gravestones, usually just the name and generation of the sim, with a note about how they died or their job/hobby or whatever. They don't give a lot of room, so I keep it short and it's usually just a quick note for my own reference. When you go to engrave the epitaph, they pre-fill it with pre-selected message, which is usually boring. Well. Colt's was: "Here lies Colt, somewhat missed." Given the circumstances of how he died/how his family reacted, I cracked up because it was SO PERFECT. I wish I coulda had the space to keep that along with my usual notes, but I did not. Still. Geez. Poor guy. XD;
And that is why this update is titled, Sims Are Dumb And Never Do What You Expect Them To. Or: f**k You, Slip-N-Slide.
